Opinion abot this instrument of "Luthier Workshop J. T. Kubicki" issued on October 15, 2021 in Warsaw:
"Violin 4/4 violin, "S3-2020", made in the studio "Salamon = Violin Making" (Szczawnica, 2020).
The instrument, in perfect condition, is an example of the young wave violin making from Podhale, characterized by a synthesis of the classic solutions of the Cremonian school and modern post-Janikian influences. The instrument has an "old" finish, with visible, blackened scratches in the cheeks of the top plate and in the central part of the bottom, varnish of a deep, chocolate-brown color, heavily wiped, high-gloss finish.
An instrument with a deep, strong sound, with a strongly built middle and lower register, with a characteristic, aggressive edge. Incredibly responsive, dynamic violin."
About the author
Salamon Lythiery (born July 23, 1996, Szczawnica)
Artist-violin maker, obtained the title of "Artist, specialization: functional forms - artistic violin making" in the class of prof. S. Marduła, in 2016
Currently, he lives and works in his hometown, Szczawnica, often creating his own projects in cooperation with other masters of Podhale (S. Sloka, M. Obrochta, W. Bednarski, A. Kalata, Ł. Szelec etc.) Master Jakub creates mainly in the Young Polish Violin Making trend, characterized by a dynamic form, the use of native materials, "old" finish with references to the school of the Carpathian arch at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, on a par with "modern", smoothly finished, academic instruments with saturated , clear colors and sharp edges.
Instruments from the "Salamon- LUTNICTWO" studio enjoy considerable interest among folk and jazz musicians, due to their characteristic, slightly aggressive sound.
