Fourteen years. It's hard to believe how quickly the time has passed.

The organ at the Sanctuary and Parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Choszczno was built in 2012. Following a recent inspection, we once again had the opportunity to see how well it has stood the test of time. The instrument still looks almost brand new, preserving its full tonal capabilities and delivering the same musical experience as it did on the day it was inaugurated.

It was one of the largest instruments we built during that period. With three manuals, pedal, 72 stops, traditional drawk**bs, and eight combination pistons, it offers a versatile musical tool capable of performing repertoire from virtually every era and style.

The church itself has an extraordinary history. This Gothic building was severely damaged during World War II, and its reconstruction continued for many decades after the war. The original organ gallery was never rebuilt, so the instrument had to be integrated into a recess within the nave. This unique setting became the starting point for a project that marked our first completely original organ façade, designed entirely from scratch. Our goal was to create a modest, harmonious design that would blend naturally with the austere Gothic character of the interior. Today, after fourteen years, we are pleased to say that the design has stood the test of time.

In organ building, much is said about durability, but the real examination comes only after years of everyday use. That is when it becomes clear whether the design choices and technical solutions were truly the right ones. In Choszczno, that test has been passed with distinction.

We would like to thank everyone who has cared for this instrument over the years. It is a great satisfaction to see that, after fourteen years, it continues to serve the liturgy, prayer, and music, remaining an important part of the life of this remarkable church.

It is hard to believe that 13 years have already passed…

The organ at the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Warsaw was the very first instrument we completed in the Polish capital. Today, after more than a decade of intensive use, we still look at it with great satisfaction. Both the console and the organ case remain in outstanding condition and still look virtually new.

This is no coincidence. The instrument was built entirely from solid oak, finished using a traditional oil treatment without any lacquer. Over the years, the wood has developed a beautiful natural patina while fully preserving its durability. It is an approach that allows instruments to be built not merely for years, but for decades or even centuries.

The organ itself is neither among our smallest nor our largest projects. Yet with two manuals, pedalboard, and 40 stops, it offers an exceptionally mature and complete sound. At its heart lies the legendary “Velesovo” sample set by Sonus Paradisi, based on a contemporary XXI-century organ built in the neo-baroque tradition.

From the very beginning, we considered this project an exceptionally successful one. There are places where the instrument and the architecture form a truly perfect unity and this is certainly one of them. From the first day, the organ sounded as though it had been created specifically for this church. This is due not only to the excellent acoustics of the modern building, but also to the remarkable skill of the church organist, Mr. Wojciech. Over the years, many of his comments and suggestions found a permanent place in our later designs, for which we remain deeply grateful.

This was also one of the very first organ façades we designed entirely from scratch. Despite the passing years, both the façade and the console have retained their elegance and freshness. For any builder, this is a source of great pride and perhaps the best proof that timeless design and high-quality craftsmanship are always worth pursuing.

A particularly important moment in the history of this instrument was its solemn blessing in September 2013 by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw. This event opened the door to further prestigious projects throughout Warsaw and the surrounding metropolitan area. It marked an important milestone in the history of our company and significantly strengthened both our credibility and recognition. We remain sincerely grateful for the trust that was placed in us.

This year, the Parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace celebrates the 75th anniversary of its foundation. On this occasion, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire parish community. We are honored to have contributed our small part to such a beautiful and meaningful place.

We wish the parish many more decades filled with prayer, music, and peace.

It is hard to believe how quickly time passes... already 9 years.

These photos capture the very last moments of the Magnus organ console for Wolsztyn in our workshop, just before transport and installation. What was once a huge engineering challenge, countless hours of design work, woodworking, electronics, MIDI programming, and acoustic planning, became a finished instrument ready to begin its new life.

Even today, nearly a decade later, this instrument remains one of the most ambitious and technically advanced virtual pipe organ projects ever created. In many aspects, it is still the largest and most sophisticated virtual organ installation in the world.

Projects like this are never simply “products.” They become part of a church, part of its architecture, atmosphere, and musical identity. Every detail matters: the console design, ergonomics, stop control systems, audio architecture, integration with the building itself, and of course the organist’s experience at the instrument.

Looking back after all these years is both surreal and deeply satisfying. Technology evolves constantly, but some projects remain milestones that define an entire chapter of a company’s history. This was certainly one of them for us.

Thank you to everyone who was part of this extraordinary journey. And perhaps most importantly: thank you for the trust placed in Magnus Organs.

Nine years later, it still inspires us to push further.

Antonín Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance No. 2 “Dumka” is one of those pieces where the organ can truly sing.

Beautifully arranged and performed by Ondřej Horňas on the Magnus Principal organ, this recording captures both the intimacy and the dramatic contrasts of Dvořák’s music with remarkable depth and color.

Our rocker tabs snap into place like LEGO bricks — held firmly by paired magnets that both secure the switch and act as a return mechanism. It’s simple, elegant, and virtually indestructible.

💡 The activity signal is powered by an LED-lit fiber optic system, available in orange, red, green, or white. The electronics are completely mechanically passive, which means no wear, no loose wires, no hassle.

Magnus Principal RT – from concept to reality!

Not long ago, we shared this instrument as a 3D model, and today we’re proud to present the finished Magnus Principal RT – a new incarnation of our classic console design.

The instrument is based on the Magnus Principal console, but instead of the standard touchscreen monitors, we’ve implemented 72 rocker tabs – a traditional, elegant, and reliable solution.

This refined instrument was custom-built for an enthusiast of organ music and will serve in his private home.

As always, each of our instruments is prepared based on a detailed design, which the client receives for review and approval before any construction begins. This project was no different – a precise concept, mutual agreement, and a carefully refined final result.

The organ is equipped with:
– 3 manuals and a pedalboard
– 2 swell pedals
– 27 pistons: 18 under the first manual (supporting 64,000 general combinations), and 9 for integration with Hauptwerk (for changing sample sets, temperaments, combination banks, tuning, etc.)
– 2 toe pistons for the combination system
– bench and a plexiglas music rest

Once programmed, the instrument does not require a monitor – all functions are accessible directly from the console.

The stop name plates are magnetically mounted and can be easily replaced when using different sample sets. Thanks to the use of two small magnets, each plate can be fixed in only one, correct position – without the risk of rotation.

The LEDs are permanently built into the base of each switch, and the light is transmitted via fiber optics. This eliminates moving wires and significantly increases durability. It also helps avoid the glowing plastic effect typical of outdated electronic organs.

Production of our draw-k**bs is in full swing! Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes — from the very first steps of manufacturing to final assembly on the console.

Our latest version has undergone a thoughtful redesign: it’s half the weight of the previous model while preserving the same robust mechanics. The mechanism combines hardened resin and steel, ensuring durability for years to come. The k**b itself can be made of wood or plastic — the photos show the elegant wooden variant.

Each stop is equipped with magnetically attached nameplates, making it simple to rearrange or replace them. The unused plates? Just stick them to any magnetic surface nearby — no risk of losing or mixing them up.

We’ve also refined the illumination system: activity is signaled via fiber optics lit by LED, available in various colors (orange, red, green, white…). Thanks to this, all electronic parts remain completely passive — there are no moving wires inside, so there's no wear and tear.

The system is easy to install and connect, especially when paired with the clever single-board electronics developed by our friends at MIDI Hardware. One compact board handles both contact signals and lighting — a dream for any DIY console builder!

A journey down memory lane… This is still the largest Magnus Principal we have ever built. We’re proud to know it now serves faithfully in China, bringing magnificent sound and craftsmanship to a new corner of the world.

Designing and creating such an instrument is always a privilege — every detail, from the handcrafted wooden keyboards to the precision of the consoles, reflects our commitment to both tradition and innovation. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.
