There are plates that carry food.
And there are plates that carry a story.
Gonzalo Martín has spent 25 years in his workshop in La Orotava, Tenerife - turning volcanic clay into objects that end up on the tables of the world's most celebrated restaurants. Berasategui. Roca. DiverXO. Aponiente. Azurmendi.
Three Michelin stars. And his ceramics in the middle of it all.
We visited him on a rainy day in March. He opened the gate before we even finished saying hola. Warm hands, quiet smile, and immediately - come in, let me show you.
Inside the workshop - a kiln, shelves of extraordinary pieces, and a silence that smells of clay.
Before we left, he disappeared for a moment.
He came back holding a vase.
"This is for you. For your flowers."
That vase travelled with us across the entire island.
Now it stands in Warsaw in our Japandi Showroom.
Some things are made for the finest tables in the world.
And some things are made to find their way home.
