This is what a tile painting studio sounds like. Painting might look like a quiet art, but between every stroke, Daniela’s brushes keep the rhythm going in our studio in Óbidos.

to 2015, when Australian TV host Catriona Rowntree visited our studio in Óbidos, watched Daniela paint and flew home with all the tiles she could carry. They became the mural on her bathroom wall, later featured in Australia’s Homes to Love.

Eleven years on, a lot has changed here. New colors, new patterns, new pieces. Catriona, ready for a new one?

Daniela grew up surrounded by paintbrushes and tile-covered walls. She left for a while, studied science — then came back to carry on her family’s tradition, now rooted in the historic town of Óbidos, Portugal.

From 17th and 18th-century patterns to her own original designs, every piece is free-hand painted — no stencils, no shortcuts.
