🇵🇹 Caneca Germânica (século XIV)
As suas formas frequentemente apresentam corpos esguios ou globulares, com bases "beliscadas" e marcas de torno visíveis no corpo e pescoço.
As Canecas e Jarros deste período costumam ser simples ou decorados com linhas horizontais e ranhuras feitas enquanto a peça girava no torno.
A sua asa era carregada ao sinto e maior parte destas canecas não eram vidradas, o que permitiam um maior apuramento no sabor das cervejas e uma boa condução térmica, a cerveja era bebida fresca de início ao fim.
Durante o século XIV, o centro de produção mais proeminente era Siegburg, na Renânia.
🇬🇧 Germanic Jug (14th century)
Their forms often feature slender or globular bodies, with ‘pinched’ bases and visible wheel marks on the body and neck.
Jugs from this period are usually plain or decorated with horizontal lines and grooves created whilst the piece was turning on the wheel.
The handle was carried at the Belt, and most of these mugs were unglazed, which allowed for a purer beer flavour and good thermal conductivity, ensuring the beer remained cool from start to finish.
During the 14th century, the most prominent centre of production was Siegburg, in the Rhineland.
