Trivia time: Why are coffee bags so hard to recycle? 🧩

Most coffee pouches look like simple plastic or foil, but they're actually made of multi-layer material: thin sheets of plastic, aluminum, and paper fused together to keep oxygen out and coffee fresh.

Because municipal recycling centers can't easily separate these fused layers, millions of coffee packaging pouches end up straight in general waste.

That’s where upcycling comes in! By taking the intact pouch and sewing it directly into wallets, pencil cases, and pouches, we skip the energy-intensive recycling process and turn a hard-to-recycle material into a conversation-starting accessory.
