Having bought and sold property in both the UK and Portugal, I can confidently say: the process here is far less stressful.
Why?

Because once the CPCV (Promissory Contract of Sale and Purchase) is signed, the deal is essentially secured — regardless of how long it takes to reach the deeds.
Backing out is extremely rare… after all, no one likes losing a significant deposit.
