It was founded in 2011 as the brainchild of two like-minded artists Dominika Bozic and Gabi Pezo. At present the c
ommunity boasts over 60 members from about 30 countries. Their handcrafts range from jewelry, bags, clothing, paintings, illustrations, graphic designs, greeting cards, stationery, craft kits and toys, home decors, furniture and accessories to party supplies. These products are one-of-a-kind, handmade and not mass produced, oftentimes with the option of customization for a truly unique experience. QatART’s board team currently consists of 4 dedicated members, who volunteer in managing memberships, media relations and PR, spreading of information within its community, organizing events for members as well as handmade markets at Katara Art Studio held about twice a month from October till March. GOALS
- to establish and grow a diverse art & craft community that is a key player in the creative landscape of Qatar
- to develop skills and professional standing of its members through collaboration, best practice sharing and workshops
- to safeguard the integrity of community’s core principle: designed and handmade in Qatar
- its handmade markets to become well known in Qatar and beyond
