Two new Rayhaan releases, and they could not be further apart.

Equinox is the bright one. Orange blossom and grapefruit open it, jasmine sambac and white tea sit in the heart, and vanilla and sandalwood close it with a creamy finish. Radiant rather than sweet — the one for daylight and warm weather.

Vanilla Vibe is the opposite. Plum and freesia up top, tuberose and Madagascar vanilla in the heart, then amber, labdanum, cashmere wood and oud underneath. The oud is what stops it being a straightforward vanilla and makes it an evening fragrance.

Taif Rose EDP by Ahmed Al Maghribi 🌹

Taif rose is grown at altitude in Saudi Arabia and picked by hand over a few weeks each spring. It carries a spiced, honeyed quality that Bulgarian rose simply doesn't have — and that character is the whole reason this fragrance exists.

Bergamot and peach open it, with a hint of chocolate that most people don't place until the second wear. Geranium and peony hold the rose in the heart. Cedarwood, saffron and vanilla finish it.

A rose fragrance for people who think they don't like rose fragrances.

Presenting Marsh Candy by Attar de Astana

Strawberry and raspberry, cut with lemon so it never cloys. Then orange blossom and ambroxan underneath, which is the part that keeps it from being a dessert.

The marshmallow arrives last, soft and powdery over clean musk — and because this is an extract rather than an eau de parfum, it stays there. Two sprays is the whole application.

Presenting Rayhaan Vantage

Cardamom and pink pepper to open. Frankincense and myrrh in the heart. Vanilla to close.

It starts warm and spiced, then goes somewhere older, with the resins of a temple, sharpened by juniper so it never turns heavy. Cedarwood and patchouli hold the base, and the vanilla softens everything just enough.

Unisex. Autumn-into-winter. We stocked it for exactly this time of year.

Volare Stardom Glorious — Nine notes in the opening: peach, sweet orange, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, lychee, apple, ginger, green tea. That should be chaos. It isn't, because the peach and lychee are weighted to lead and everything else supports. Then lavender and rosemary quiet it down.
