For me, hats met their designed purpose. I was protected by any external influences, whether they were physical or emotional. We got to a point where wearing a hat is a sign of bravery as if we have rejected the practical

to the illusion of self-made security. I started making hats not for the sake of empowerment but for the melancholy of belonging. We are all looking for people that are like us, who share the same values, same principles and same views of the world. What if you could wear a part of your soul in plain sight to recognize each other? What if you put a hat on and start walking your path? MARIA PALARIA is my way of connecting with people, listening to their life stories and future adventures. They take my hats with them. They take a part of me everywhere they go.
