A father tried to give one son a gift. The Prophet ﷺ said no.

Assalamualaikum dear parents! There's a hadith where a companion, Nu'man b. Bashir, was given a gift by his father — his father asked the Prophet ﷺ to witness it. The Prophet ﷺ asked: "Have you given gifts to all your children like this?" He said no. The Prophet ﷺ replied: "I cannot bear witness to an injustice." (Sahih Muslim 1623g)

Fair treatment between our children isn't just good parenting advice — it's something we're directly told to fear Allah about. Not always easy to catch in ourselves, but worth reflecting on.

Assalamualaikum! Most Muslim parents know children aren't accountable for their sins before puberty. But scholars are clear that their good deeds ARE recorded from a young age — based on the hadith of a woman who asked the Prophet ﷺ if her child's Hajj would count, and he replied "Yes, and you will be rewarded."

That reframes every small thing — every dua, every prayer we teach — as something that already counts for our children, not just practice for later.
