I hope you guys are sitting down, because you’re not going to believe the quantity and quality of books that came through the door this weekend. So much so that I’ll need back-to-back customer appreciation posts to even begin to showcase them. First up is Robyn and their partner Klara, who donated four boxes (!!!) of great books on Saturday. You might recognize Robyn from The English Bookshop where they work and previously hosted the Modern Fiction and Horror book clubs. If you see them in the shop, don’t hesitate to thank them for their generous donation!!

It’s almost here!!! And as the day looms, so too does our next hint: the author behind which the ticket hides penned what a book clubber described as “the sharknado of books” and “a masterclass in how NOT to write an ending”. Today’s post features some (not all!) of the books that came through the door yesterday. I’ll be adding them to the website through the week, so reach out if you want anything set aside in the meantime. Just a heads up there are some rare books and first editions in this batch that will be priced accordingly. To see them all, stop by the shop in person as soon as possible.

It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to post our book club so I’m taking it! A great discussion this morning as usual, and with a waitlist for 10 and counting next month I may just add a third session so stay tuned. Last but not least, we’ve had tons of great books in this week so make sure to check out our stories so you don’t miss out!

It’s that time of year again!! One golden ticket worth a year’s supply of audiobooks will be hidden in the shop on Saturday, Oct 10th in honor of UK Bookshop Day! I’ll answer yes/no questions on the day of, and sprinkle some hints on social in the lead up. First up: open a book that was easy to close 📕

October officially kicks off Spooky Season, and we’re celebrating by reading books that run a chill down our spines - whatever that means to you. Horror, Gothic, crime, the list goes on and on... As our second session falls on HALLOWEEN, feel free to come in costume and scare the bejeezus out of your hostess (take it from me when I say it’s not hard to do 😱).
