WOW! THANK YOU! What a First Day we've had at the little bookshop 🥰 We barely have words left (we spent them all talking about books, and for a while we thought we were going to run out of them too!) We are so grateful for all of you who have visited the store with such joy, love and excitement. Thank you SO much for welcoming us to Malmö in such a grand fashion ❤️

Now we're off to some well-earned sleep, but we'll see you tomorrow at noon! There are still books on the shelves and there are MANY MORE on the way, so make sure to keep checking in ☺️

WE HAVE A DATE AND TIME! 🥳 And it’s in less than 24 hours! 🤩

Welcome to our Sneak Preview Opening tomorrow 29/8 at 10.00 a.m!

We are starting with a bare bones stock of about three thousand titles but we have more books coming in every week direct from the English speaking world - dozens of new titles along with more backlist will grow our selection weekly. And if there's anything you miss - let us know and we will easily add it to our weekly orders.

We are beyond excited to meet you all! See you tomorrow… 😍

Day 10 ✍️
It's been a mighty fine day in the bookshop! We got a sign!! And bookmarks!!! And more books!!!! We’re getting closer… 👀

Morning of day 8. All these books are now ready to be sorted out into the lovely shop 🥰 Another half-tonne of books arriving Tuesday 📚 We’re making good progress and are positive that if we work a few nights this week we can open this weekend!!! 😮 We will confirm closer to the fact. Keep checking in here! ❤️

End of day four. It's been intense but all the furniture is in place and we've started to unpack the books. Lovely people have been popping their heads in the door and cheering for us and the team has worked SO hard. The shelves in the picture contain the first unpacked books to be sorted out into the shop. There's some Dr Seuss. And Steinbeck. And Mary Oliver. And Kafka. And Carl Sagan. And Shirley Jackson and Han Kang and the Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library and Andy Weir and Donna Tartt and James Baldwin and Jung and Taylor Jenkins Reid and Emily Henry AND WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED!!!!

Day one and two 😎
After hours of hard work, a few trips to second hand stores, and many cups of coffee we can announce that all the bookshelves are up and the Sneak Preview space is starting to look really pretty! The first delivery has also arrived - wonder what’s inside… 😜 We are having so much fun - and the fun (and work) continues tomorrow…

SO - this week we start creating our sneak preview shop! Shelves to build, books to unpack, carpets to buy, new staff to train, events to plan, more books to unpack and sort, recycling to figure out, authors to reach out to, new friends to make. We’re SO excited to finally break bookish ground at Södra Förstadsgatan 4 - the building with a Green Man above the portal!
Our excitement has been shared by so many of you, we feel entirely humbled. More than 150 people have applied to work with us (!). THANK YOU so incredibly much - your enthusiasm means everything. Unfortunately we can’t hire 150 people to work in the shop, but we’ve put together a cracking team and are looking forward to you all meeting them/us. So thanks for all the bookish love, and thanks for rooting for us in the buildup process. And for keeping your fingers crossed while we work round the clock to bring you the first incarnation of our shop here in Malmö.
We’re not sure about the actual date yet, but it’s soon! And we will let you know once we feel confident about the date. Keep checking in here and follow our work!

News from the Gothenburg delivery whisperer! More than 2000 books (!) are now on their way to the Sneak Preview shop at Södra Förstadsgatan 4! Sounds like a lot, you say? Well, not to brag - but did you know that our mother store in Uppsala has exactly 16748 titles?! Stockholm follows with 8695 and Gothenburg 8689. In total, we have 20946 different (yes, different) titles spread over the three shops! So, you can absolutely expect Malmö to catch up as soon as the permanent store is up and running ;)

Today we had an unexpected visitor at the bookshop. This little bird seemed not so shy, as it flew straight to the counter and perched on top of our computer. Luckily, she was a real charm, and kept us company for a little while. Can you identify the species of this little visitor?

As you can tell, we truly mean that anyone is welcome into the bookshop. However, we must say that we appreciate you taking care of your private business outside, because that's what this little one turned around and did just moments after this picture was taken... (it's true!)

P.S: She whispered in our ear that a new book delivery is just around the corner, and she'd like to say: "Welcome in!"🐦✨💌
