The Carbon Trust estimates that a 2 metre-tall artificial tree creates around 40kg C02. This is over twice that of a real tree which, will produce methane gas when it ends up in a landfill after taking approximately 5-to-10 years to fully grow.

At Maison Dôme, we believe that using cut branches keep the atmosphere natural while leaving the trees to grow further.

Wood is known to be one of the most naturally renewable energy sources and it will have less of an impact on the environment compared to other materials.
At Maison Dôme, we believe hard wood is a great material for cooking utensils, not only do they not harm teflon on your pots and pans but they also do look great in your kitchen! ;) We have selected beautiful hardwood utensils. The world has produced almost 20x as much plastic in the past 2 decades than it has between 1950 and 2000! Plastic represents nearly 15% of total waste in the world and ONLY 9% is recycled. 80% of plastic waste ends up in landfill but mostly, is found in the natural environment - and ultimately, in the ocean!

This requires urgent action! Let´s all recycle, let´s all consumme eco-consciously, let´s ban single-use plastic product from our life. This requires low effort but will make a huge impact.

Single-use plastic items like straws and cups are no longer allowed in the 27 European Union countries. Many countries have now banned single use plastic straw and this is great as plastic straws are among the top 10 contributors to plastic marine debris across the globe. Globally, that is 437 million to 8.3 billion single- use plastic straws on the world's coastlines. However, currently, plastic straws still make up about 99% of the $3 billion global drinking-straw market and, to add up, most recycling machines aren't capable of recycling straws, given their size.
