Guitar legend Lars Eric Mattsson gave us the grand tour of his studio and instruments, thank you so much for your hospitality! His new single ”We Must Live” is out on July 16th, check it out! After over 40 years as a recording artist he still has it!

A weekend filled with music and friendly people on the Åland Islands comes to an end. And the trunk of the family car was packed with guitars on the way home as always.
No rest for the wicked.

Då kör vi igång vår utförsäljning i samband med flytten/uppgraderingen av butiken, och nu har vi börjat städat i våra l***r. Fler varor läggs till löpande under hela Juli, så varje gång du kommer in kommer det att finnas nya prylar att fynda.
Kablar, väskor, småprylar, instrument osv.

Kom förbi butiken på Roslagsgatan och bär med dig lite hem!

De prylar som vi har samlat ihop i vår entré får inte följa med i flytten.
Allt ska bort. Står det kvar prylar i augusti får vi fortsätta sänka priserna ytterligare tills någon slår till.

Vi försöker göra det enkelt att handla.
Procentsatsen dras av från priset som står på prislappen i kassan.
Vissa saker har fast pris. Svinbilligt.

It´s getting hot in here. ☀️
Luckily we have air conditioning. 💨

Our new friend Matt McJunkins from A Perfect Circle played Gröna Lund yesterday and came by OG today and picked some new toys, a bright red headless bass with red pickups in a r***e gigbag (good luck flying with that one..) and a Cardinal Red OG t-shirt, enjoy both Matt! They match your glasses! We hope to see them on stage soon!

Thundermother & FU*K (aka Fagersta Ukulele* Klubb) played Suradagarna in Surahammar this weekend and we wouldn´t miss it for the world! Awesome gig!

Progress is being made at the construction site in Kallhäll, we are slowly getting closer to the end goal, but there is sooo much work left, it´s not even funny. We look forward to getting some instruments in there, but first; blood, sweat and tears. Mainly sweat at this point as the heat is currently breaking records left and right all over Europe, and even up here in Sweden.

Work hard, play even harder.

We get lots of questions about how the work with the new location at Bolinder Strand is coming along, and we are proud to say we see progress! Many, many hours are put into this project. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for sure.
Can´t wait to show the place to the world when we are done!
But first; drill, baby, drill.

When the weekend comes we love to catch a great band live, and this week it was finally time for sludge metal legends Eyehategod from New Orleans with special guests Bleachdrinker at Hus 7/Slakthusområdet. Great show!
As fans of both Down and Crowbar it was great to witness Jimmy Bower in his main band. Oh, the heavy riffs!

Matthew Zeller from the world renowned Musical Instrument Museum https://mim.org got the grand tour of both our current and future showrooms, and spent a few hours with Oscar discussing old instruments where plans for future collaborations were made.

The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix is the largest museum of its kind in the world, featuring a vast collection of over 15,000 instruments and objects from nearly 200 countries and territories. It is highly rated as a top cultural attraction in the United States.

Thank you for asking, we are just done with cleaning out our old warehouse and moving shelves and stuff to the new location in Bolinder Strand. Tons of work and tons of stuff that we didn´t even know we had. Phew!

More interesting instruments have arrived this week!

This batch spans more than 150 years of musical history.
From a Martin built before serial numbers existed to a limited-edition Hagström created in collaboration with Absolut Vodka, this latest batch might be one of the most diverse we've had in quite some time.

The oldest arrival is also one of the most fascinating. A Martin 2-21 built sometime between 1867 and 1898 has found its way to the showroom. Built in New York before Martin introduced serial numbers, this beautifully aged instrument has survived well over a century of changing musical trends and technologies. Originally designed for gut strings, it still performs wonderfully today and serves as a remarkable reminder of Martin's earliest years.

From Kalamazoo comes a wonderful 1936 Gibson L-37 archtop, complete with the original sales receipt from 1937. We have also added a fascinating 1919 Gibson F-2 mandolin carrying a piece of Swedish history inside — a documented restoration performed in Vällingby, Stockholm in 1956, with the original repair labels still preserved.

The Swedish corner is particularly strong this week. A 1969 Hagström Jimmy joins the lineup, designed by legendary archtop builder James D'Aquisto and considered by many to be one of Hagström's most ambitious creations. Alongside it sits the eye-catching Ultra Swede Absolut Vodka Rock Edition, produced in fewer than 1000 examples worldwide.

And because no OG update would be complete without a few wildcards, we've also added a yellowed 1971 Fender Champ Lap Steel, a red EMG-loaded Hohner B2 Headless Bass straight out of the 1980s, a 1955 Vega Whyte Laydie 6-string Banjo, a Gold Tone Banjo Ukulele, a pair of Gibson ES-125s from the 1950s, a 1978 Les Paul Standard, and plenty of Martins and Gibsons to keep both collectors and players happy.

Price drop on this 2008 Rasmussen 00-42. Built by master luthier Lars Rasmussen, now widely regarded as one of Europe's premier boutique guitar makers, this early instrument already displays the exceptional craftsmanship that has made his work so sought after. Many will remember Lars from his years as our in-house luthier at Oscar Guitars in Stockholm, and we're incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished since. Built shortly after his journeyman's exam, this guitar reflects many of the ideas and techniques Lars picked up during his internship with Dana Bourgeois in the early 2000s, making it a fascinating piece from the beginning of an extraordinary career.

Oh yes, we went to the very popular Klubb Fredagsmangel in Jakobsberg where we saw the bands Maridia, Gigafauna and Ett dödens maskineri, and it was awesome.
Friendly atmosphere! Great sound! Cool place! We loved it!
In only a few years Fredagsmangel has become an important underground gathering where up and coming extreme bands from all over the world come to play and guests from all over Sweden book hotel rooms to go to this small club in Jakobsberg.

Welcome to our little guitar shop in Stockholm, Sweden.

It has been a fantastic week with visits from all around the world.
A group of students from the UCLA Music Industry major program in Los Angeles, USA stopped by and got the grand tour after telling us they had been stalking us on Instagram for a while. Smiles all around, and we hope you enjoyed your time in Stockholm guys! Wear the t-shirts with pride!

A group from Spain were amazed with our displays and the level of guitars in the showroom, and they told us we had more high end classical guitars for sale than pretty much any shop in their home country! Well, we know Spain has some great shops but we appreciate the enthusiasm and kind words!

Espen and his son from Askim, Norway stopped by on their way to the sold out show with Erik Grönwall, and we had a great time talking to both of them about music and about old times as Espen was one of Oscars friends from luthier school almost 30 years ago. We also plugged in a bunch of Les Pauls for a test run.
I think I heard Seek & Destroy (Metallica) and a few other bangers from our youth, good songs never go out of style and there is definitely a new generation that is carrying the torch!
