Sagan om Ringen. J. R. R. Tolkien (Stockholm, Atlantic Förlags AB, 1988, 1988, 1980).

Somewhat uncommon. Tolkien’s classic illustrated by Luis Bermejo in Swedish. A so-called comic novel or graphic novel; the original was published in Italy the same year as in Sweden, 1979, and was later issued in Finland, Denmark, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands, but never in the United States or in English.

The albums cover only the first half of the trilogy, and no continuation was ever published.

The first two parts belong to the second edition and were published in 1988, while the third part belongs to the first edition and was published in 1980.

The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers & The Return of the King. By J. R. R. Tolkien (New York, Ballantine Books, 1978).

With unopened pages. Tolkien’s classic in an early paperback edition complete with the original slipcase (the original editions were published in 1954–55). The final volume includes an appendix covering genealogies, historical notes, various alphabets, and more.

With paperback covers illustrated by J. R. R. Tolkien himself (Barbara Re*****on, who illustrated the covers for Ballantine Books’ first edition in 1965, had reportedly not read the books and famously included trees bearing lions and pumpkins).

Paperbacks with yellow-tinted page edges, housed in a gold-coloured slipcase: well-preserved and sturdy paperbacks with a few minor creases and small defects to the spines. The slipcase is sound and intact with some light rubbing to the edges. Internally clean, with attractive unread text pages free from stains, tears, and creases.

”Tolkien och den svarta magin” är en konspirationsteoretiskt färgad skrift riktad mot författaren J. R. R. Tolkien, dennes familj och Tolkiensällskapen.

Ohlmarks försöker argumentera för att de litterära sällskap som bildats kring Tolkiens The Lord of the Rings utgör en ondskefull maffia, centralstyrd av Tolkiens efterlevande i Oxford, som ägnar sig åt sexorgier, narkotika, djävulsdyrkan och ritualmord.

Boken utkom sommaren 1982 efter att Ohlmarks under en tid drivit en kampanj i pressen mot sina förmodade fiender och väckt stor uppmärksamhet i media. Sveriges Radios podd om Åke Ohlmarks rekommenderas: Mannen som kidnappade Sagan om ringen.

Förlagets hårda band: stadigt och fint band med en närmast osynlig ljus fläck. Vita, fina textsidor i perfekt skick.

Tolkien’s celebrated classic, originally issued in 1954–55.

First editions: "The Two Towers"(Sixth Impression, 1959) and "The Return of the King" (Sixth Impression, 1960).

Second edition "The Fellowship of the Ring" (Fifth Impression, 1970).

Each volume with a large folding map. The final volume includes an appendix dealing with genealogies, historical background, the various alphabets, and related material.

Publisher’s cloth bindings with red top edges: attractive red bindings with minor edge wear; The Fellowship… in a slightly lighter shade of red. Clean, bright text pages; The Fellowship… with eight traces of dog-earing and a ca 3 mm light stain to one edge. The larger folding maps without tears.

Erotic scenes. Engravings by Konstantin Somov, 1917.

Engraving by Konstantin Andreyevich Somov, the Russian artist who settled in Paris following the Russian Revolution.

Between 1907 and 1919, Somov produced more than 120 ink drawings for various editions of the erotic work Le Livre de la Marquise.

Owing to the erotic character of these illustrations, he acquired the nickname “Sodomov” (Somov was himself homosexual).

This print originates from the German edition Das Lesebuch der Marquise, Berlin, 1917. See also the article on Konstantin Andreyevich Somov in Wikipedia.

Printed on fine-quality paper: when held to the light, the watermark and traces of the papermould become visible. The engraving with clear and distinct plate marks.

Serrefesse. Parodistische Tragikomödie von Louis Pine-à-L'Envers ... (Leipzig, Privatdruck, 1910).

First and only German edition. One of 500 numbered copies, issued exclusively to subscribers; “the plates used for the illustrations were destroyed after printing”. Illustrated with 25 two-colour pornographic illustrations in the text.

Louis Pine-à-L'Envers was a pseudonym of the French poet and chansonnier Louis Protat (1819–1881), who is today chiefly remembered for his erotic writings.

One of his best-known works is Serrefesse, first published in 1864. The book was later placed in the notorious Enfer (“Hell”) collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the library's restricted section for prohibited an erotic literature.
