For our third SGIBD event, bommoi presents the highlight of our festival calendar: an intimate live author talk! 🌿

We are thrilled to host novelist Jang Ryu-jin for a conversation around her acclaimed novel, To the Moon. Celebrated for its sharp, relatable portrayal of modern work life, the story was recently translated into English and adapted for both TV and audio drama.

For our first hybrid "live salon," the author joins live on screen while readers gather together in person at bommoi. Following the talk, we will hold a virtual signing session, with personalized signed copies available for pick-up at bommoi in October.

Seats are very limited in our cozy shop, so early booking is recommended!

▫️ Date & Time: Saturday, October 3, 3:00 PM
▫️ Venue: bommoi
▫️ Language: Conducted in Korean

Chuseok is right around the corner! 🌕

Surrounded by Singapore’s year-round tropical greenery, it never quite feels like autumn. Yet watching our neighbors celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival is a lovely reminder that another season is gently passing through.

Take a quiet pause with a warm cup of tea and some mooncakes, and drop by bommoi to share our traditional harvest stories with your little ones. Wishing you all a warm, happy, and bountiful Chuseok!

Also, don’t forget—author Ju Shana’s children’s picture book talk is happening this Sunday. You can reserve your spot via the link in our bio!

As time quietly settles in at bommoi, more footsteps find our shop and more titles fill our shelves. Busy days, but deeply rewarding.

Books are unexpectedly fragile around the edges and deceptively heavy, so shipments can never be casual. With returns out of the question, writing purchase orders for a small shop like ours is a tightrope walk of endless micro-worries. Second- and third-guessing every single title is just part of the routine.

The sheer volume and physical weight of ink on paper, crossing an ocean to get here! In an age when everything floats into the cloud, I catch myself indulging in the silly thought that a bookstore is a space that summons an author’s soul into the physical realm.

…and the sad reality is, overwhelmed by tending to these sacred beings, I haven’t found a single spare minute to post a book introduction. 🫠
