https://arkademie.com/products/studio-arkademie-seigaiha-sashiko-a6-notebook-cover
The SEIGAIHA (青海波) is a wave design originated in China that is made of arches of concentric circles to depict the sea on ancient maps. It was recorded that since 800 AD during the Japanese Heian Period, it has been used on artworks, fabrics, kimonos, ceramics, pottery and even architecture. The SEIGAIHA has become one of the most recognized Japanese patterns used to symbolize lasting peace, good fortune, and resilience - a favorite motif for weddings and celebrations.
STUDIO ARKADEMIE combines the unique aesthetics of Matcha-tanned Japanese cowhide leather with the traditional Seigaiha motif stitched using sashiko technique and wrapped into a kimono-styled waistband with a Burgundy leather knot over a green-on-green leather notebook cover.
Drawing inspiration from the sashiko technique, the stitches made into the supple leather strengthen, and at the same time augment the aesthetics of the material. In this A6 format notebook cover with a 40cm long decorative band, there are no less than 300 hand-stitches painstakingly made by hand, and taking up to 30 hours to complete.
Each cover is handmade and unique.
Fits most brands of A6 softcover notebooks, planners and organizers including Grandluxe, Fabriano, Midori, Moleskine, Muji, Monologue, Rhodia, etc.
A6 notebook is included with the cover. Designed and handmade in Singapore.
