Here’s an appreciation post for our artisans’ exemplary artistry and craftsmanship in creating our unique handmade pieces. When working with crocodile leather, the various parts require different handling and crafting skills. For example, the back cut has hard bristles that are almost armour-like making it harder to work with, while the belly cut is smoother and more pliable. The former is usually used for trimmings while the latter is the popular choice for making bags and purses.

The first thing to note is that crocodile leather will spot and crack if there is excessive contact with water. So make sure to immediately wipe the surface with a clean, white cloth, then let it dry indoors away from direct sunlight and heat. Once all is well, store in a cool, dry place. A lot of effort goes on behind the scenes before our products hit the shelves — the raw skin spends 12 weeks being turned into leather as it gets emulsified, split, shaved, dyed, and dried. Then it goes into the hands of our skillful artisans to be cut and turned into unique leather goods.
