📷 That haunting cover portrait was shot by legendary photographer Richard Avedon! 🎸 The title track “Farewell, Angelina” was actually a Bob Dylan outtake — recorded during the sessions for his own “Bringing It All Back Home” but left off the record. Dylan handed it to Joan Baez instead, and she turned it into the title track of her 1965 album, which also features three more unreleased Dylan gems! 🎶

🎨 Bassist John Entwistle designed this iconic 1975 cover himself — inspired by watching his young son doodle in a connect-the-dots coloring book! ✏️ He hid a bit of playful humor in the artwork, including a hidden number “1” somewhere in the design. Beneath the whimsical drawing, the album’s lyrics get surprisingly dark — tackling alcoholism and aging, with Pete Townshend later admitting he wrote the songs “stoned out of my brain... crying my eyes out.” 🥁
