Our busy books aren't just felt. We created them to be worlds of imagination for your child and hours of screen free play. Watching your child play the same book differently as they grow is one of the most rewarding stories we hear from you.

This is just one of the times a customer said this to us - "Do you know felt is very cheap?" To be honest, it hurt a little that someone can be so casual and careless with their words to an actual person. Of course, we laughed it off and explained but deep down, it felt hurtful to hear something so dismissive when so much goes into what we create.

That said, we are also blessed with many of you who love our books, many of you who have been nothing but understanding, kind, and generous. And that while cruelty does exist, it is the minority.

In sharing this, my hope is that people know what really goes on behind the scenes, and know that there is an actual person with a very real heart, made of skin and bones, before carelessly dismissing the person, in their face (no less). I know sometimes, these are "harmless comments" or "we didnt know better", so i thought ill share so we all know. Because while I have never said such things before, I too, have thought " why so expensive when the raw material is so cheap" before too :)

When I learnt about pixie dusting before our first Disney cruise, I thought about what to give for a while and then thought, why not my book, Galileo and Galilei, Embracing Who We Are.

I wrote a note and signed every book though maybe nobody wanted my autograph but it really was the message I hoped to send. That the child who reads it will know they are enough just the way they are, that they are loved just the way they are.

And I hope they found loving homes. The trick was to observe the doors and find clues to know if a child under the age of 12 stayed in the room 😂

I remember the days we had absolutely zero screen time for my son. He is almost 6 now so we do indulge in TV together as a family but no ipad/phone. Though I also remember relenting a couple of times when he was around 4, which led to meltdowns when we took the screen away.

Those early days though? We spent a lot of time playing and reading. And the busy books? They surprise me sometimes. I remember once, he hadn't played them in a couple of months, and suddenly he was very quiet, and didnt bother us. I was wondering if I was going to spot a huge mess but to my surprise, he was there, revisiting his busy books and getting lost in it.

And that's how I remember how much I love our busy books again. 😂

It truly is a toy that keeps giving. And the best part? You can pass it down generations. It is compact and easy to keep. Imagine how wonderful it will be 30 years down the road when you see your grandchild playing with it too🥰🥰🥰

I was that mom, looking for beautiful meaningful toys that sparked imagination, and then I found it in busy books with whole worlds packed in them. I loved how they were tactile, aesthetic, compact, and filled with opportunities for pretend play.

Our very first Big World, Little Hearts story is about Punch — a baby Japanese macaque in Japan who has won the hearts of many around the world 🌎

After he was born, his mother did not provide maternal care. Reports suggested this may have been related to her being a first-time mother and the intense summer heat at the time.

When Punch began interacting with his troop, some larger monkeys pushed him away — a reminder that animal groups operate through social hierarchies and instinct.

Zoo caretakers supported his health, and because young macaques normally cling to their mothers, they introduced soft objects for comfort.

Punch chose a long-legged stuffed orangutan toy — and carried it closely. In one widely shared video, he is seen returning to the toy after a tense interaction with other monkeys.

Over time, Punch has gradually begun integrating into his troop and is now seen playing with other macaques.

This story isn’t just emotional — it’s educational.

We’ve been losing followers.

And for a while… we wondered what we were doing wrong.

Some days we get a couple of new followers, but it quickly goes away. We watch the numbers rise and fall back faster.

But here’s what we’ve learned while building Hi Buy Mama and creating busy books designed to support focus, independence, and emotional wellness for kids:

Unfollowing isn’t rejection.

It’s clarity.

If someone chooses to leave, it simply means this space isn’t aligned with them anymore.

And honestly? We’re happy for them.
