Another exciting project entrusted to us.

This basement family room is designed around the Epson LS970 Ultra Short Throw laser projector, discreetly concealed within custom-built cabinetry when not in use, preserving the clean and elegant aesthetics of the space.

The cabinetry was thoughtfully planned with future flexibility in mind. Beyond today’s setup, it is fully prepared to accommodate a dedicated karaoke system and a comprehensive AV upgrade, should the homeowner decide that the existing Sonos system is no longer sufficient to deliver the scale and dynamics expected from a 135-inch screen.

Another Ascendo Immersive Man Cave
Every great cinema starts with a vision, and this project began with the owner upgrading from an Anthem AV70 to the flagship StormAudio ISP24 processor. While the processor laid the foundation, it quickly became apparent that the existing speaker system was limiting the room’s true potential.
As the room is relatively narrow, the original M&K speakers tended to disperse sound too widely, reducing imaging precision and overall immersion. To better control directivity and create a more focused soundstage, we replaced the surround and Atmos speakers with Ascendo Immersive monitors. Their controlled dispersion characteristics, combined with StormAudio’s advanced processing and Dirac Live calibration, allowed us to deliver exceptional imaging, seamless surround integration, and a truly enveloping cinematic experience.
The bass system also received a complete transformation. Although the original dual Arendal subwoofers delivered impressive output, they lacked the speed and articulation needed to blend seamlessly with the original Mbl front speakers. We replaced them with two Ascendo 16-inch sealed subwoofers at the front, providing tighter, faster, and more musical bass while maintaining effortless low-frequency authority.
To complete the low-frequency system, two Ascendo 18-inch sealed subwoofers, powered by the new DSP6604 amplifier, were installed at the rear of the room. Together, the four-subwoofer configuration delivers remarkably even bass distribution, explosive dynamics, and outstanding transient response. Whether it’s the chest-thumping impact of a sniper rifle or the rapid-fire articulation of machine-gun sequences, every low-frequency effect is reproduced with astonishing realism and control.
The true soul of any cinema system, however, is its centre channel. We replaced the previous high-end centre speaker with an Ascendo 15-inch monitor positioned behind a new Stewart acoustically transparent screen. The improvement was immediate and profound. Dialogue now emerges naturally from the screen with exceptional clarity, weight, and emotional nuance, creating the illusion that every voice belongs exactly where it appears on screen. Combined with the effortless dynamics of the Ascendo system, the result is a cinematic presentation that draws viewers deep into every scene and transforms every movie into a truly immersive experience.

This living room was thoughtfully designed to preserve a clean, uncluttered aesthetic while delivering a truly immersive audio-visual experience for the entire family.
All five main cinema speakers are discreetly concealed within the ceiling, maintaining the elegance of the interior without compromising performance. The AV receiver is neatly integrated into the back kitchen cabinetry for convenient access while remaining completely out of sight. Even the subwoofer is cleverly hidden within the existing cabinet, ensuring the space remains visually seamless.
A 110-inch recessed motorised projection screen is concealed within the ceiling and only descends when it’s time for a movie, allowing the living room to function as a sophisticated everyday space without any visible AV equipment.
Despite its minimalist appearance, the room is equipped with a properly designed 5.1 surround sound system. Combined with professional audio calibration, every seat enjoys clear dialogue, precise surround effects, and balanced bass, creating an engaging cinematic experience that far exceeds what a conventional soundbar can achieve.
To complete the entertainment ecosystem, additional music zones were seamlessly integrated into the bar, dining area, patio, and master bedroom, allowing high-quality music to flow effortlessly throughout the home while maintaining a unified and intuitive user experience.

We are excited to see more homeowners embracing Ascendo Immersive Audio solutions. This project was especially rewarding as the owner had shortlisted renowned brands such as Perlisten, Krix, Oracle and Focal before making his final decision.

What made this journey special was the opportunity to personally visit his home to better understand the room and identify ways to improve its acoustic performance. By evaluating the space firsthand, I was able to recommend solutions tailored to his needs rather than simply suggesting products.

After visiting several showrooms, he decided to give us an opportunity after experiencing our Ascendo demo and seeing our commitment to service. He appreciated the dynamics, clarity, and immersive sound of the system, as well as our willingness to spend time understanding his requirements.

We are honoured to have upgraded yet another M&K speaker system to a complete Ascendo Immersive Audio setup. This exceptional installation features the renowned Ascendo Passive 12 on-wall speakers, complemented by Passive 6 Wedge surrounds and powered by dual Passive 15 subwoofers driven by the AIA2-1404 amplifier.

This project was a complete overhaul of my client’s media room. The previous setup consisted of compact Bowers & Wilkins M1 satellite speakers paired with an AS1 subwoofer, which did no justice to the space or screen size.

I set out to restore the room’s performance and impact by upgrading to a full Ascendo system—featuring wedge speakers all around, supported by two powerful 15-inch passive vented subwoofers driven by a dedicated subwoofer amplifier.

Despite positioning the subs behind the sofa, the calibrated result was exceptional. The bass distribution became seamless and immersive, delivering a powerful, floor-filling impact that felt consistent across the entire room.

I’m proud to have brought the media room back to life—now with a new level of performance and scale that truly matches the 120” screen.

This project was a system revamp after 8 years. We replaced the existing Epson LS9000 laser projector and upgraded the HDMI cabling to ensure optimal signal performance. Although the process required several hours to carefully cut and reinstate the ceiling, the improvement was immediately noticeable.

In addition, we upgraded the AV receiver to further enhance the overall system performance. The homeowner was genuinely impressed, sharing that the upgrade delivered more than a 30% improvement in sound quality—exceeding even our initial expectations.
