💐What is the significance of Thung?
Thung has been an important rite for the North-Eastern people of Thailand for a long time.
It is believed that Thung can be used to protect against any bad that would interfere with Merit Making.
Thung also serves the purpose of a Beacon to the Deities around the area, by letting the Deities know that there is Merit Making or Important Ceremonies ongoing.
It also reflects the belief of connecting souls and lead them to the Teaching of Dharma.
The Spider Web shape seen on a Thung is also an important feature of the Thung.
Usually made of various colours of Yarn or Silk, the Spider Web is commonly 4 or 6-sided.
The end result is a beautiful deco for the temple and the sacred area.
Overall, it is a good merit to offer a Thung to the temple.

💐What is Sadorkror Tor Chatah Ceremony?
Sadorkror Tor Chatah Ceremony is commonly used to cleanse evil and bad luck.
It is conducted for people who are down on their luck.
The ritual differs from temple to temple.
Some temples will cover the person in white cloth, chanting as the cloth is slowly removed.
While some others perform a ritual where the person sleeps in a coffin during the ceremony
and some temples will connect holy thread to the heads of everyone in attendance, and connect the thread to the Buddhist statues.

💐How Wat Suttawas Vipassana does Sadorkror Tor Chatah Ceremony?
Wat Suttawas Vipassana does Sadorkror Tor Chatah based on your Horoscope.
The ritual will be conducted with the intent of improving your luck and lengthening your life (e.g. by preventing a fatal accident that is predicted to happen to you during the year)
After the ceremony, the Mahaniyom Gold Plate with name of the person is kept under the base of the main Buddha image.
This is to extinguish evil and get rid of bad luck. This will be done in the Ubosot, where monks are doing dharma chants in every morning and evening.
It is also believed that various deities and angels will join the chanting and worship Lord Buddha with the monks.
Mahaniyom Gold Plate with participants' name will be protected at all times.
It will open up new fate, new life for the participants.
