The Børresen C2 is a tall, floor-standing speaker that sounds very clear and natural. It belongs to the C-Series and costs about $40,000 a pair. It uses premium materials and smart engineering to produce accurate, spacious sound.
Pairing the C2 speakers with the Børresen Bass Module 3 (BM3) gives you a complete, full-range sound system. Unlike a typical rumbling home theater subwoofer, the BM3 ($28,800) works on a totally different principle called a "velocity converter."
Adding the BM3 to your C2 speakers gives you these benefits:
1. No Boomy, Uncomfortable Bass
Normal subwoofers push air into a sealed box, which can make bass sound muddy and cause ear fatigue. The BM3 uses four special drivers arranged to push air back and forth instead of compressing it. This cleans up messy room acoustics and delivers tight, fast bass down to 20 Hz — without the boom.
2. Lightning-Fast Response
Most subwoofers are slow and heavy, which throws off the timing of the music. The BM3 uses the same ultra-light carbon fiber cones as the C2 speakers, powered by a built-in 2 x 300W amplifier. So it keeps up perfectly with the C2's speed — no lag, no mismatch.
3. No Digital Delays
Many subwoofers use digital processing to blend with the main speakers, but this adds tiny delays that hurt accuracy. The BM3 uses a pure analog crossover instead, so there's zero delay. You can set it to handle frequencies between 30–80 Hz, picking up right where the C2 leaves off.
4. Better Mids and Highs Too
People who add the BM3 notice that the midrange and treble also improve — not just the bass. Because the BM3 handles all the deep bass work, the C2 speakers can breathe easier. The result is a bigger soundstage, blacker background silence, and even clearer, more effortless highs.
