Grandma Patchwork
With ties that bind, threads intertwine. Working a pair of aged wrinkled hands, Grandma Tay meticulously embroiders yet another piece of timeless fabric patchwork. What started as a hobby to keep her agile and nimble, Grandma Tay takes a cotton to sewing patchwork for a purpose. A genteel old lady with a bounteous of love, 85-year old Grandma Tay sews purposefully on a daily basis in the name of charity. Equipped with quality cotton fabric she purchases herself, she single-handedly contributes to this old fashion hobby of knitting which requires utmost patience and undivided concentration.
We at Erin Shop are sincerely inspired by how much effort and resolution Grandma Tay devotes in creating each patchwork piece. With different colour combination and distinctive shapes to consider, without the assistance of any modern technology, fashioning each patchwork piece is by no means an easy feat! To support Grandma Tay’s vision, we commit ourselves to contribute our share in charity. In helping her to complete sewing the border and backing of her patchwork, the team at Erin Shop aspires to create a series of hand-made handicraft specially catered to suit each individual’s liking. Starting with basic cushion covers to table runners, we aim to expand the series based on your valuable opinion. Profits from each piece sold will be donated to Grandma Tay’s choice of charity.
What is more heartwarming than to receive a gift so original, distinctive and hand-made with tender loving care? Yes that is what we have at Erin Shop, Grandma Tay’s very own patchwork.
