Bens Leather Crafts is a Singapore based business that hand makes leather essentials & waxed canvas bags. Starting in a hotel room with only a few scraps of leather & a borrowed hammer. We have grown to owning state of the art tools & equipments (all the way from japan to taiwan) enabling us to produce nothing short of perfection. It took me 2 years to find the suitable materials, utilitarian design and even product testing (by myself & some friends) to finally agree that these beautiful masterpieces were going to sell. Our leather essentials launched on the 19th of March 2015 and had a very good feedback reaching our goal of selling our first batch of leather in 3 weeks that i had aimed to sell in 2 months. We are proud to announce that we have finally launched our very own Waxed Canvas Bags on the 1st of February 2017. With the aim to provide you with top notch workmanship & quality, guaranteeing our products to last & age beautifully over a lifetime. I stand by my products that they are made with the best materials & workmanship. And by the way, i’m still using my very first bag and wallet up until today. How do you care for your leather goods?!

Tip #1
If leather gets too wet: Dry it slowly. Speed drying leather changes its chemical structure, and you end up with stiff crinkle cut chaos. So aim for room temperature drying with gentle air rather than direct heater time with a hair-dryer. And keep it in the shape you want it to end up, as leather will remember the shape it was when wet.

Tip #2
If leather gets too dry: Rub something moist into it. Pick a light leather dressing or cream that is made from reasonably natural ingredients. If those are unavailable, using moisturizers like, Nivea, will do the trick too.

Tip #3
If leather gets dirty: Just use a damp cloth. You don’t want to be putting any soaps or foreign substances in there.

Tip #4
Leather stretches out, but not back: If you start to overfill a wallet, it will never really return to its former taut self. If you stretch a leather bag when wet or very humid, it will move even faster. Just learn to carry the right amount, and this takes care of itself.

What is Buttero leather? //

Buttero is an Italian leather from the Conceria Walpier tannery, a recognised tannery of the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium. The Consortium is made up of over 20 of the finest tanneries in the region of Tuscany. To be a part of the consortium is to be recognised for your quality.

The first features anyone will notice about Buttero leather are the colours. Traditionally, veg-tan leathers only come in the standard array of browns and blacks.

Next is the feel. With a superbly smooth top finish, buttero gives a feel in hand like no other leather. Over time this gathers patina that makes the leather glossier. We will note that the leather can mark and scratch easily, but it is this wear that makes the leather only get better with age.
