"I thought I found their forever home... until today. 🥊✨

When I first laid eyes on this pair from Ash*ta no Joe (Tomorrow’s Joe), it was love at first sight. For a long time, they sat packed away in a black trash bag at home because I had no space to display them. When we expanded into unit #02-51, I finally put them front and center. I genuinely thought they’d stay with me forever.

Last week, a group of visitors from Hong Kong fell in love with them and asked if they were for sale. Half-teasingly, I gave them a price—never expecting what would happen next. They actually arranged for a local friend to drop by the gallery and buy them on the spot!

As the saying goes, a man’s word is his bond. As much as it hurts to let them go, I’ve always believed I’m just a temporary guardian for the pieces in my space. Once they find a home where they’re truly cherished, my job is done.
Just like Joe Yabuki’s story, life isn’t always perfect—but those bittersweet moments are what make the journey worth it. Burned out into pure white ashes. ⚪️🔥

Have you ever had to part with a collectible you swore you’d never sell? Drop your bittersweet stories below.👇

** Rare 1960s Sony Boy Mascot (International Version) 📻**

✨ The Holy Grail of Vintage Tech Advertising
Standing at an impressive 50cm tall, this iconic 1960s Sony Boy (Achan) counter display figurine is a certified piece of tech history. Originally distributed only to authorized dealerships—never sold to the public!

🌍 Ultra-Rare International Variant
While domestic Japanese releases feature Kanji/Katakana text, this specific grail features the embossed English "TRANSISTOR RADIO / TAPE RECORDER" text on the base, custom-made exclusively for the overseas export market during Sony's global boom.

Standing 50cm tall, this 1960s Sony Mascot, (Atchan) is absolute Showa-era holy grail territory. 🔥👇
Created back in the mid-1950s by famous manga illustrator Fuyuhiko Okabe, “Atchan” was introduced to mark Sony’s revolutionary leap into transistor technology and radio history. 📻⚡️
While smaller promo figures were handed out at storefronts, these massive 50cm jumbo shop display models were crafted using classic Japanese sofubi (soft vinyl) techniques—built strictly as high-impact advertising pieces for official Sony dealerships across Japan. 🇯🇵
Finding one today in intact condition with vibrant original paint and that iconic retro smile is nearly impossible. A true centerpiece of Japanese pop-culture, design, and vintage advertising history! 🎯✨

The unique charm and collectibility of 1970s soft vinyl toys (Sofubi) were the result of deliberate design choices made to overcome the manufacturing and technological limitations of the era:
Rotocasting Constraints: Designers rounded, shortened, and stylized figures so they could be easily removed from metal molds without tearing the vinyl.
Deformed/SD Proportions: Proportions were intentionally altered—giving figures larger heads and shorter bodies—to make them cuter, more child-friendly, and structurally stable.
Hand-Applied Color: Manual airbrushing through stencils created distinct, soft-edged color gradients, lending each piece a unique handmade quality over mass-produced plastics.
Artistic Vision: Viewing toys as sculptural art rather than exact replicas, designers embraced a "creepy yet cute" Kaiju aesthetic that gave the figures a distinct personality.
Ultimately, these creative adaptations transformed practical engineering hurdles into an enduring, classic design language.
