Textile Centre Singapore About Textile Centre Back in the early days, many textile businesses were located in and around the North Bridge road region.

Due to land redevelopment by the government, shop owners negotiated with a property developer, who had a piece of reserved land in Jalan Sultan, to build a textile centre to relocate the affected shops. Singapore Textile Centre was built and completed in 1974 to become the main textile collecting and distributing centre in Singapore and its name was soon made known throughout South East Asia.
