Weathering tells a story.

Maybe the tank has seen some mighty tough battles or maybe it has been abandoned by its crew and left to face the elements. The washed-off satin and dusty accents make the tank unique and give it character.

Like a well weathered Gucci shoe, weathering can raise a tank's value.

You want to avoid cheap. I've seen way too many people coming to me because of a faulty product or the item received is not what it was described.🥶
So what do you want? 🤔
☑️BUY FROM A TRUSTED SOURCE
It's fine if you're buying it for yourself, but as a gift, you really want to avoid making the 'wrong' purchase. There are also a ton of different variations of the same product from 27 Mhz to 2.4Ghz radio and upgrades, among others. A trusted source will ensure you receive what you bought.
☑️MIGHT NEED TO FIX IT YOURSELF IF YOU BOUGHT ONLINE
Even though some sellers will send you replacement parts for a faulty item, you might have the necessary technical skills to change it or suffer from the phobia of tearing apart something you just bought. It can be challenging but certain products at certain price points do need a bit more of tender-loving-care more.
This happens a lot more than you would think.

2 of the most common scale for RC Tanks are namely:
- 1/16
- 1/24
1/16 is the world's most popular scale by a big margin..
☑️SIZE
A typical 1/16 can measure up to 70cm x 50cm.
Modern tanks are generally bigger in size as compared to older tank models.
☑️POSSIBILITY OF TURNING THIS INTO A HOBBY
If you are, stick to the 1/16 scale as it's supported by most RC Tank clubs and is the preferred scale for wargames.

DON’T BUY YOUR FIRST RC TANK BEFORE READING THIS, UNLESS YOU DON’T MIND WASTING MONEY.

Think through how far you want to take this hobby before you even get started. 🤔

An occasional buyer or gift might want a controllable toy and serious hobbyists are interested in performance and durability and collectors are usually very picky about the historical accuracy of the models. Knowing what you want can save you a ton of money in the long run.👍

The most popular segment of RC tanks around the world revolves around the 1/16 scale.😮

That means 😁:

- Upgrade parts
- Detailing parts
- RC Tank Communities
- Discussions

NEW TANKIES, WHAT RCTANKSINGAPORE MEANT TO YOU. 🤷‍♂️

A hobby that turned into a business, became part of and grew a Facebook community now known as Singapore RC Tank Division (SRTD) with weekly games held at Dhoby Ghaut Green.

All new Tankies like you understand the difficulties of finding information on the hobby and even harder to know what to get and where to get them. I wanted to solve the problem and founded RCTanksingapore in 2011.

What if you are not sure if this is something for you for the long-term? Shelling out $2,000 can be a tough decision to make.

But inside you, you want to get into the hobby and every video you viewed, You start turning on the sounds on your laptop and your browser and it's getting to you.

👉YOU NEED YOUR TANK!👈

Then bam... you found us. Your desire grew and started furiously emailing us, asking a ton of questions and prices. Eventually, you realized it's the best option to have to get started in the hobby with a limited budget and purchase upgrades as you go.

I ended up opening a retail store at Toh Guan then shifted to a bigger store at Woodlands Primz Bizhub.

Had a few VIP Clients like the Ambassador of UAE to Singapore and also participated in SAF events in camps.

Had fun while it lasted.

Unfortunately, due to personal and the market situation, I had to go dark. 🌙

However, SRTD continues to host games and indoctrinate new Tankies on our absence.

As more and more activities revolve around the digital age, hobbies like RC Tank will continue to serve as a break from all the techno-phobia and make many new friends. Like I did.🥳

Announcement: To all our fans out there whom have not heard from us for the longest time.

As many of you know that the tank hobby is undergoing a transition period as suppliers are restructuring and changing the way they do business, thus temporarily affecting supplies. "Patton will definitely be pi**ed!"

Moving forward, I will like to invite everyone here to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, where we share product launches, reviews and other hobby related articles to help every hobbyist, green and veterans get into the hobby and spread the love of tanking.

We will also seek to collaborate with hobbyist who wants to share their RC Tank interest on our newsletter with featured columns and interviews and events coverage.

More information will be made available as the details are finalized.

Nonetheless, while we transit to a new era in tanking, I have secured a few pieces of the new Heng Long Russian T-90 MBT for those who are dying to get their hands on their own!

Wiring is a work of art.

Useful tips:
- always use wires of correct rating to prevent wires melting and causing damage.

- use only appropriate length, excessive wires increases resistance.

- do not use excessive solder.

- always plan your wiring routes.

- always double-check polarities before turning the power on.

- do it like a pro.

Now you know why I get requests to install their electronics for them? =P

RC Tankfest Singapore 2016 is coming…

This is the biggest event for our hobby in recent years and the hobby is set to grow.

If you haven’t taken your first step into the hobby, let me give you some reasons why:

- It is awesome fun. Plan your tank, source for parts, build, paint and most interestingly, joining the IR Games held twice a month. Never feel bored and lonely again.

- Meet new people. Always fun to get to know new folks. Especially learning their quirks and their habits so that you can own them at the games. :X

- Pick up many skills you otherwise will never get in touch with. From soldering to electronics, you will become a household handy man.

- Play it with your kids. For those of you whom are fathers, get your kids off the screen and get them involved in some real life activities. Apart from knowing and playing by the rules, the IR Games and people there are usually kids-friendly.
