Red Lacquered Table & Gold-Gilt Mirror.

A striking red lacquered vintage table from Zhejiang, with drawers spread across two rows. The framework is gently rounded, and the drawers sit slightly recessed, giving the table depth and a distinct profile. L125 x D40 x H88cm.

Above it is a gold-gilt mirror frame converted from an old carving. At the centre is a kirin, a symbol of good luck, flanked by bats and baskets filled with peaches, representing good fortune and longevity respectively, all set above a curved bottom border.

NEW ARRIVALS: Antique Red Lacquer Table, Shanxi.

An antique low square table from Shanxi province, with beautiful original red lacquer and patina, and drawers built into two sides. At the corners, the reeded horizontal frames appear to wrap continuously around the legs.

The tabletop painting centres on a large longevity motif, surrounded by peonies (prosperity), bats (good fortune), auspicious knots (good luck), and the Buddhist wàn symbol (卍), representing eternity. 91 x 91 x H41cm.

NEW ARRIVALS: Distressed Aqua Small Gansu Sideboard.

A small sideboard from Gansu in a distressed aqua finish, with black and white floral paintings across the front. The muted colour pairing keeps the piece from being too loud or busy, despite aqua usually being a bold colour. L105 x D40 x H84cm.

Behind it is a set of antique Chaozhou door panels, each 280cm tall, with 8 pieces available in total. On top, antique Hunan ceramic pots complete the display, with one, featuring a longevity symbol, converted into a table lamp.

NEW ARRIVALS: Antique Leather Trunks from Tibet & Shanghai.

A stack of three antique & vintage leather chests, each with its own unique character.

On the top and middle are two antique Tibetan leather trunks, one in a weathered dirty-yellow tone, and one in a rich deep red. Both are fitted with decorative brass hardware on the front clasp and all four corners. These are extremely hard to come across nowadays. L74 x W41 x H34cm / L75 x W44 x H37cm.

At the base is a vintage leather trunk from Shanghai in a dirty-yellow shade. The round clasp on the front is engraved with 上海新泰祥号 (Shànghǎi Xīn Tài Xiáng Hào), the name of the shop that made it, and a label inside certifies genuine leather, dated 1941.

A compact sideboard from Gansu, painted with peonies in vases — a classic pairing symbolising prosperity and peace. The colours of the painting, in black and ochre, are subdued and charming. Dimensions: L105 x D40 x H85cm.

On the floor are two antique brown pots from Hunan, in good condition. On the sideboard sits a painting by Tung Yue Nang, depicting Chinatown during the Mooncake Festival, a festival we’ll soon be celebrating next week!

NEW ARRIVALS: Antique 2-Tier Red Cabinet, Quanzhou.

An antique 2-tier cabinet from Quanzhou, Fujian province, in a beautiful original red lacquer. This cabinet was found in remarkably good condition, with the brass hardware fully intact throughout.

On both sides is a couplet that reads:
氣清更覺山川近，心遠愈知宇宙寬

The meaning runs deeper than the words alone. The first line speaks to clarity: when the mind is clear and free of emotional fog, everything becomes achievable. The second speaks to distance: stepping back from chaos frees us from being trapped by minor setbacks, revealing just how vast the universe is and how fleeting our troubles really are. In short, clarity brings focus, and detachment expands perspective.

NEW ARRIVALS: Small Carved Cabinet from Shenhu, Fujian.

A small carved cabinet from Shenhu town, Fujian province, with beautiful carvings throughout. The drawers have relief carvings in the shape of the “Buddha’s hand” citron, while the panels below feature through carvings of flowers, magpies and plum blossoms. Magpies and plum blossoms is a visual reference to the idiom 喜上眉梢 (xǐ shàng méi shāo), meaning happiness and joy. The original gold leaf remains visible on these carvings, framed by green and cream borders, a signature of the Shenhu style. L95 x D40 x H89cm.

On the left is a pair of vintage red round stools, also from Fujian. Above sits a plaque reading 大吉祥 (dà jí xiáng) - great auspiciousness, a simple, straightforward wish for blessings.

NEW ARRIVALS: Vintage Shanxi Long Sideboard.

A vintage sideboard washed to its original wood finish. Made of pinewood, the grain and texture are beautifully presented throughout. The three large doors allow convenient access to the generous storage inside. Dimensions: L205 x D48 x H90cm.

Surrounding it are rustic Elm stools of various sizes, alongside black pots from Shanxi and Zhejiang - some converted into lamps, others kept just as they are.

NEW ARRIVALS: Antique Bamboo Cabinet, Subei Region.

An antique bamboo cabinet from the Subei region, full of unique details. The frame is pine, with bamboo strips covering the front doors and sides. The hinges are small iron latches, refreshingly primitive in style, and a wooden peg at the front slides across to keep the top doors shut, a simple and clever mechanism.

Standing at two metres tall. his cabinet is a genuine conversation piece, offering generous storage as well. W112 x D50 x H200cm.

NEW ARRIVALS: Antique Low Table, Shanxi.

An antique low rectangular table from Shanxi, with round, slightly tapered legs. The front and back feature beautifully curved spandrels, finished with fine beading along the bottom edge. Round horizontal rails complete the look, giving the whole piece an elegant, refined look, the patina on this table is excellent throughout.

This was originally a wine table, but damage to the legs led to it being shortened and modified into a unique coffee table.
