Cho San found his love for Asian art and crafts, particularly with Japanese designs, when he was 20. He worked part-time in local crafts and souvenir shops, however, realised most were offering similar products. Hence, he started his entrepreneurial journey with Far East Fine Arts in 1978, with the desire to create unique local gifts and souvenirs. Working alongside with his beloved wife, the shop

grew into popularity through the word of mouth and continues to be featured in popular travel guides and networks such as Aruco Magazine and JTB.‍

Today, it is affectionately known as Chosan Zakka or rather, Mr Cho's Shop.

Five years ago, my dad, Cho San, painted this series of Singapore watercolours. Looking at them today, I realised that some of these places have changed.

It reminded me that as our city continues to grow, every chapter becomes part of our story. Here’s to celebrating our past, appreciating our present, and looking forward to our future.

Last September, we launched our very first Watercolour Foldable Shopper Bag! Since then, we’ve steadily added more designs, and it remains one of our bestsellers in our watercolour-themed collection 🎨✨

It comes as a tiny, lightweight square that you can easily tuck into your pocket or daily bag. Whenever you need it, it unfolds into a spacious, durable tote bag - perfect for weekend market strolls or spontaneous errands!

Personally, I’ve been using this shopper bag for my weekly groceries since plastic/paper bags are charged here in the UK! It’s been a lovely way to carry a piece of home with me 🇸🇬
