Another very good and rare example of a long keris form the Sumatran region of Minang Kabau. Finely carved handle in the jawa demam form is made from black ebony wood with the top sheath in the sabit bulan or crescent moon form made from well selected kemuning woods, with the bottom stem made of angsana woods. A fine copper ferrule or pendoko completes fittings.

Long, slim and very sturdy blade with prominent spine and fullers flanking, has very well executed base features or perabots typical of the keris panjang forms.
The long and slim nature of the blade makes its use as an ex*****oner’s keris is very appropriate. The condemned was seated; his arm held by guards, the ex*****oner holding the kris vertically and points it on the victim’s left shoulder, near the neck just behind the collar-bone. When the signal was given, the blade is driven downwards through the heart. As the blade is withdrawn, a cotton pad is placed into the opening caused by the thrust. This method of ex*****on is theoretically bloodless.

Pamor patterns are arranged in the mlumah technique of the wos utah or scattered rice variations.

Pedang Tusuk Jawa Naga 0126
Very good and rare example of a stabbing sword or pedang tusuk from the central Javanese regions. Handle and sheath are made of wood and is fully encased with finely repoussed silver having a dragon or naga guard with a snake clip at the top of the sheath.
Long, thick and very sturdy blade with the top half having double sharp edges to use as a stabbing weapon.
Pamor patterns are arranged in the mlumah technique of the kulit semangko or melon’s skin variations which is said to enhance the owner’s popularity.

Kingfisher Keris Tajong Bangsa Agong Bulu Ayam
A very good and rare example of a form of keris whose origin is from Patani, an area covering the southern tip of Thailand including Kelantan, northern Malaysia. It’s very unique handle, made of hard ebony woods called kenaung, is finely carved in the form of the Tajong having gold plated copper insertions at places.
The handle had been described by writers from the west as a kingfisher. Although it does resemble a bird, closer look at the handle shows it to be more of a “demonic” figurine. Its wide eyes and long beak have a kingfisher’s resemblance, but the teeth, fangs and beard which are carved in full details, shows otherwise.
The top sheath is made from very well selected kemuning woods with natural grains and the bottom stem is made of angsena wood with a gold plated copper panel at the middle having an aqua marine stone inset.
The long, straight and very sturdy blade is typical of the region’s styles having a prominent triangular spine or “tulang” in Malay and very well executed base features or perabots with an overall shape or dapor called pandai saras in Malay.
Pamor patterns are in the arrangements of the miring technique of the bulu ayam or chicken feathers variation which is said to enhance the owner’s status.

Keris Jawa Lurus Sungging Painted Keris
A very good and rare example of a keris from the central Javanese region of Surakarta. Fittings in the ladrangan Solo styles has the handle made from rare fossilized mammoth molar, with the sheath finely painted with animals and floral motifs called sungging.
Long and very sturdy straight or lurus blade, has pronounced base features or perabots, with an overall shape or dapor called jalak ngore.
Pamor patterns are arranged in the miring technique showing horizontal lines called lawe saukel or untwining thread.
Length of blade: 13.5"
Overall length: 19"

Mandau Sword Dayak Borneo Kalimantan
A very good and rare example of sword from the island of Borneo or Kalimantan called the Mandau. Well carved handle is made of water buffalo horn with the base having finely weaved rattan bindings and a Dutch era coin with Jawi and Sanskrit writings indicating a two and half cent coin value.
Carved wooden sheath is binded with finely woven rattan panels. A side tool called the pisau rauk is attached at the back and is usually use as a shredding tool.
Very sturdy single edge blade has the typical Mandau features with a concave and convex surface and doted brass inlays at the top.
Pamor patterns are using non contrasting metals and forged in the mlumah technique arranged in the wos utah or scattered rice variations.
Length of blade: 19.5".
Overall length: 25.5".
Condition: Very good condition.
Age: Late 19th century.

Sewah Aceh Knife Ulu Tandok Perak
Another rare example of a side weapon called the sewah from the northern Sumatran region of Aceh. Typical handle form and the top sheath are made from buffalo horn with the bottom stem fully encased with finely repoussed silver pendok.
Very sturdy and thick blade with a slender arcing profile and single sharp edge, also has the base metok or ferrule made one with the blade, well represents the characteristics of the sewah.
Pamor patterns are non contrasting as it is the norm of the region not to use contrasting nickel metals. Pattern welded in the mlumah technique, but without any contrasting patterns it is called kelingan in Javanese.

Pedang Cirebon Sword Ulu Makara 3 Qul Buntet
A very good and rare example of a saber sword or pedang sabit from the northern Javanese coastal region of Cirebon. The hilt made of buffalo horn is finely carved in the form of the mythical Makara; a combination of the elephant, dragon and fish.
Wooden sheath made of hard woods, has finely reposed silver panels and bands.
Long and very sturdy blade, having a single sharp edge and a pointy tip has an arcing saber like profile.
Pamor patterns are arranged in the miring technique showing vertical lines called pamor adeg or standing variation, with rare swirly formation called pamor qul buntet at the bottom, middle and top.
Length of blade: 21.5"
Overall length: 27.5"
Condition: Very good condition.

Keris Melayu Kedah Luk 3 Dwi Warna
A very good and rare example of a keris from the northern Malaysian peninsular region of Kedah. Handle in the jawa demam form and top sheath in the typical square tebeng form are made from well grained kemuning woods having a black wood bottom tip in the patat lipas roaches' back form. A thick gold plated pierced through brass ferrule or pendoko completes fittings.
Very sturdy blade with 3 waves or luks and prominent spine with rather plain base features or perabots having an overall shape or dapor called jangkung.
Pamor patterns are condense and are arranged in the miring technique called kurisi, with one side of the base having a small swirl pattern called qul buntet.
With two patterns it is also called dwi warna or bi colored.
Blade: 12”. Overall: 17”.

Keris Melayu Lurus Sepokal Dwi Warna
A very good example of a keris from the northern Malaysian peninsular regions of Terengganu. Finely carved handle in the anak ayam teleng or cuddling chick form and top sheath in the kusiwo form, are made from well grained kemuning woods, with the bottom stem made of angsana woods having tiger's stripe grains. A thick gold plated brass ferrule or pendoko to complete fittings.
Very sturdy blade is straight or lurus, but having an arcing profile, with plain base features or perabots, has an overall shape or dapor called sepokal in Malay.
Pamor patterns are arranged in the miring technique showing a peak formation at the base called ujung gunung or mountain peak, and along the edges are jagged lines called pamor gigi yu or shark's teeth.
With two pamor patterns it is also called dwi warna or bi colored.
Blade length: 14”. Overall length: 18.5”.
