What the Shine Your Light Series Taught Me
Over the past two months, I've had the privilege of interviewing three inspiring women through the Shine Your Light series.

Although their journeys were very different, they all reminded me of the same truth.

Life rarely unfolds exactly as we planned.

Yet when we continue learning, stay open to new possibilities and keep taking intentional steps, our experiences often become the very things that enable us to help others.

Having known all three guests as clients before these interviews, I had already witnessed many chapters of their journeys. Listening to them tell their own stories publicly gave me an even deeper appreciation for the courage it takes to keep moving forward without having every answer.

One thing that especially touched me was reading viewers' comments. Many weren't talking about success or achievements.

You spoke about sincerity.

Humility.

Kindness.

Positive influence.

It reminded me that while our journeys may be different, people are often inspired by the same qualities.

Thank you to Lisa, Nilofar and Sharon for your authenticity and generosity.

And thank you to everyone who watched and supported this series.

My hope has never been to tell people what path they should follow.

It has always been to encourage them to recognise that perhaps they already carry the experiences, strengths and wisdom needed for the season ahead.

✨ NEW EPISODE | Shine Your Light Ep 3 (Part 2)

Many people believe they must first discover their purpose before taking action.

What if it's the other way round?

In this episode, Sharon shares how volunteering and serving others gradually gave her greater clarity—not because she had everything planned, but because she was willing to keep taking meaningful steps.

This conversation isn't about having all the answers.

It's about trusting that purpose often unfolds while we are living it.

If you're in a season of transition, exploration or simply wondering what's next, I hope Sharon's story offers encouragement.

Nothing Changed Outside... But Everything Shifted Within

What if one of the most important changes in our lives isn't visible to anyone else?

In Part 1 of the Shine Your Light series, I speak with Sharon, who spent more than 20 years in banking before beginning a journey of deeper self-discovery through volunteering, counselling and supporting young people and mothers.

What touched me most wasn't that she had everything figured out.

It was her willingness to keep learning, serving and trusting that understanding would unfold one step at a time.

This conversation is for anyone who feels they're still exploring what their next chapter might look like.

Sometimes the biggest transformation begins quietly within.

Trust is never built in a single consultation. It is earned over time.

Earlier this week, I invited a number of clients to share their experiences through Google Reviews. Some have been with me for more than 10 years, while others only began their journey with me recently.

Within a day, six thoughtful five-star reviews came in.

What touched me most wasn't the rating, but reading how our work together has supported different chapters of their lives—from buying a first home, to moving into a new one, navigating career decisions, and returning again when life presented new opportunities and challenges.

Chinese Metaphysics provides the technical framework for my work, but my purpose has always been to help clients make intentional decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

To everyone who took the time to share your experience, my sincere thanks for your trust and kind words. It is a privilege to be part of your journey, and I remain committed to continually learning, refining my craft, and serving every client with care.

🙏 Thank you for allowing me to do work that is both meaningful and deeply fulfilling.

Small Experiments. Big Transformations.

What happens after we give ourselves permission to experiment?

In Part 2 of the Shine Your Light Series, I continue my conversation with Nilofar, founder of Kintsugi Art Studio Singapore. https://www.kintsugiartstudio.com/

Together we explore:
✨ The powerful transformations she has witnessed through her workshops.
✨ Why healing often creates the confidence to try something new.
✨ Lessons from building a meaningful business through experimentation rather than certainty.
✨ How small steps can gradually lead to unexpected growth.

This conversation isn't just about entrepreneurship.

It's about embracing uncertainty, remaining curious, and discovering what becomes possible when we're willing to take the first step.

Can purpose influence our wellbeing?

This question became the heart of my latest conversation with Nilofar, founder of Kintsugi Art Studio Singapore.

In Episode 2 of the Shine Your Light Series, we explore the beautiful Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi—repairing broken pottery with gold.

Beyond the art itself, our conversation explores how embracing life's imperfections can lead to greater resilience, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

In this episode, Nilofar shares:
✨ How she discovered Kintsugi during a difficult season of life.
✨ The deeper philosophy behind the art.
✨ Her personal journey with Crohn's disease.
✨ Why finding meaningful work became an important part of her wellbeing.

While every person's health journey is unique, her story reminds us that wellbeing is often about much more than our physical health. It also includes purpose, hope and the courage to embrace life's transitions.

What does it take to leave a successful career and begin again?

In Part 2 of the Shine Your Light Series, Lisa Ling shares her journey of leaving a successful corporate career, navigating uncertainty and finding the courage to pursue a path that was more aligned with her values and purpose.

Career transitions are rarely straightforward. They often involve difficult decisions, self-doubt and learning to trust ourselves again.

Over the years, I have met many individuals who reach a stage in life where they begin asking deeper questions:
• What truly matters?
• What gives me meaning?
• What kind of next chapter do I want to create?

Lisa's story reminds us that starting over does not mean losing what we have built. Sometimes it is about bringing our experiences, strengths and wisdom into a new chapter.

Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your journey so openly.

🌱 The Seeds We Plant

Recently, Sharon, one of Janet’s long-time clients, shared a heartfelt reflection after reading an article that reminded her of a conversation they had years ago.

One of the most challenging lessons in life is learning that we cannot grow for someone else.

As parents, spouses, friends, mentors or volunteers, we often want to help solve problems and ease the struggles of those we care about.

Yet growth is deeply personal.

We can offer encouragement.

We can share our experiences.

We can provide support.

But ultimately, each person must walk their own journey.

A beautiful reflection shared by Sharon reminded us:

🌱 Plant the seed.

🌱 Don't force the harvest.

Some lessons take time.

Some insights arrive years later.

And sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is simply our presence, patience and belief in another person's potential.

The seed may be growing even when we cannot yet see it.

✨ What seed are you planting in your own life or in the lives of those around you?
