Sunstress — or stress? ☀️🍃

This hoya started developing a beautiful pinkish sunstress… but something about it didn’t feel right 👀 The coloration was uneven, and nothing had changed in her growing conditions.

So I checked the roots — and yes, they were rotten 🥲
She’s now in rehab, pushing out healthy new roots, and I’m pretty sure she’ll make a full recovery 🌱

Not all sunstress is “good” sunstress. Sometimes those beautiful colors can actually be a plant’s way of telling us something is wrong ✨

She refused to be photographed properly… so I gently clipped her into place 😆

Hoya phuwuaensis is such a delight — robust, pubescent leaves with those subtle speckles, and then… these soft, fluffy blooms appear every now and then 🌸✨

They’re absolutely beautiful, but not the easiest to capture — this one kept turning downward, so I had to gently help it with a clip (swipe to see)

Totally worth the effort though 🌸🤍
