The 27th of July marks the day of international cooperatives, and this year it was hosted at MEC in Manzini. The succesful event had various cooperatives from all over the country and Agricultural cooperatives came in their numbers. SWAFCU and other agriculture cooperatives were amongst the participants. Sharing of information and insights on cooperatives was part of the activities that were undertaken. It was indeed top notch

Is a sweet potato commodity platform that has been created by SWAFCU to promote large sweet potato scale production and process it into different products such as flour;Sweet potato muffins,doughnuts,bread,biscuits, juice, boiled or steamed sweet potatoes, fried chips, soup and noodles. This initiative aims to give technical support and encourage farmers to jointly venture into sweet potato production.

Makhaya Chickens Flea Market sale in Nhlangano

On 21st to 25th of July , 2016 the Ministry of Agriculture hosted a day specially for the sale of makhaya chickens to Nhlangano residents and other people who were interested in buying indigenous chickens.Representatives from various organizations were invited to partake in the event. The open sale usually takes place once every six months; however with the increase in demand for the chickens, the sellers have requested that the sale should occur at least once a month. Hence officials will further discuss the matter. The happening also highlighted the display of traditional outfits and handicrafts which were also sold during the day.
