คนทั่วไปคงมองว่า ‘กระจูด’ คือพืชไม้จำพวกกก นิยมนำมาใช้เป็นวัตถุดิบของงานหัตถกรรม แต่สำหรับชุมชนบ้านโคกพะยอม อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนราธิวาส กระจูดไม่ได้เป็นเพียงพืชท้องถิ่นหรือวัตถุดิบสร้างรายได้ แต่ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของภูมิทัศน์ ระบบนิเวศ วิถีชีวิต และองค์ความรู้ที่ส่งต่อจากรุ่นสู่รุ่นของคนภาคใต้มานานหลายชั่วอายุคน
ในยุคที่ผู้คนหันมาสนใจงานคราฟต์มากขึ้น กระจูดไม่ได้หยุดอยู่เพียงการเป็นวัตถุดิบสานเสื่อขายได้ผืนละไม่กี่ร้อยบาท หากแต่ได้รับการต่อยอดผ่านการออกแบบและความคิดสร้างสรรค์ เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าให้กับวัสดุท้องถิ่น และสร้างโอกาสให้ภูมิปัญญาดั้งเดิมยังคงมีพื้นที่อยู่ในวิถีชีวิตร่วมสมัย

The general public would think that 'Krajut' is a reed plant. It is popularly used as a raw material for handicrafts. But for the community of Ban Khok Phayom, Mueang District, Narathiwat Province, Krajud is not only a local plant or a raw material for income. But also a part of the landscape, ecosystem, lifestyle and knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation of southern people for many generations.
In an era where people are more interested in crafts, Krajud does not stop at being a raw material for weaving mats that can be sold for a few hundred baht each. But it has been expanded through design and creativity. To add value to local materials and create opportunities for traditional wisdom to still have room in contemporary lifestyles.
