Watch as our HBS artisans carefully restore luxury handbag hardware, removing surface scratches and oxidation through specialist polishing techniques to bring back its beautiful finish. A modification that should never have been made.

A previous owner had additional holes cut directly through the Hermès Togo leather to accommodate a non-original shoulder strap.

The current owner wanted the modification reversed but repairing this type of damage requires far more than simply filling the holes.

The process involved internal stabilisation of the leather panel, creating and installing precision leather inserts, specialist filling, reconstruction of the original grain texture, and custom colour matching.

From severely faded and marked to showroom condition.

This exotic crocodile leather Constance arrived with extensive fading, discolouration and surface wear that had left it virtually unusable.

Through specialist restoration, the finish was carefully rebuilt by hand using our pre-set restoration colour, followed by professional finishing and polishing to restore the depth, character and natural beauty of the crocodile leather.

The result is more than a visual transformation, it restores the bag’s appearance, usability and value.

Crocodile Leather Restoration

Damage to exotic leather cannot simply be covered with colour. Each individual scale has its own texture, tone and natural variation, requiring a highly controlled restoration process.

In this case, a specific area had suffered both surface damage and significant colour loss.

Our artisan carefully prepared and rebuilt the affected area before creating a precise colour match from multiple tones. The colour was then applied gradually, integrating the repaired section with the surrounding original leather.

The objective is not to make the leather look newly painted, it is to make the repair disappear while preserving the natural character of the skin.

The final result speaks for itself, the damage and colour loss are no longer visible, while the original appearance of the crocodile leather has been retained.

WORLD-CLASS VACHETTA REPLACEMENT

When Louis Vuitton Vachetta leather has deteriorated beyond the point where cleaning, conditioning or restoration can achieve a suitable result, replacement may be the best option.

These before-and-after transformations showcase the level of craftsmanship involved in our Vachetta replacement work, carefully recreating and replacing damaged natural cowhide while respecting the original construction, proportions and character of each bag.

From handles and piping to tabs, trims and structural leatherwork, every detail matters.
Even when the original Vachetta is no longer treatable, it doesn’t necessarily mean the bag is beyond restoration.

This rare pink Chanel arrived at HBS with a crystal missing from its beautiful jewelled CC hardware.

Finding a replacement isn’t simply about finding a similar stone. The colour, size, shape and fit all need to be carefully matched so that the finished repair sits naturally alongside the original crystals.

Fortunately, HBS has access to an extensive stock of crystals, stones and specialist components, allowing our artisans to search for the right match for unusual restoration work like this.

Once selected, the replacement crystal was carefully fitted by hand, restoring the CC hardware and completing this beautiful Chanel once again.

Specialist restoration is often about finding solutions to the smallest, most difficult details.

This Louis Vuitton arrived at HBS with multiple deep, stubborn stains throughout the inner lining.

The lining had previously been treated elsewhere in an attempt to remove the staining. Unfortunately, that treatment had also removed sections of the original LV printed pattern, leaving visible faded and “bald” areas in the fabric.

Our artisans were therefore faced with two challenges:

• Carefully remove the remaining deep stains without causing further damage.
• Restore the areas where the original lining pattern had already been lost.

Following the cleaning process, our artisans meticulously reconstructed the missing lines and LV motifs by hand, carefully matching the original pattern, positioning and appearance of the surrounding lining.

The result: deep stains removed, previous damage corrected, and the Louis Vuitton interior restored while retaining the original lining.

This is the difference between cleaning and true restoration craftsmanship.
