3) Follow-up ด้วย Value แทน
𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁
You’ve sent the proposal, but the customer has gone quiet.
You’ve followed up, but still haven’t received a clear answer.
Many salespeople may start thinking, “Maybe our price is too high?”
What often follows is an attempt to offer a discount to bring the customer back.
But the truth is, when a customer goes quiet, it doesn’t always mean that price is the problem.
Let’s look at what you should do in this situation.
𝟭) 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁
There are many reasons why a customer may go quiet.
The project may have been postponed. The budget may not have been approved yet. The decision maker may not have made a decision. The customer may be comparing other suppliers, or the project may simply not be a high enough priority at the moment.
So, don’t immediately assume that price is the problem.
𝟮) 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Some salespeople use discounts as a reason to follow up.
For example, “If you can make a decision within this month, I may be able to offer you a special price.”
This may get the customer talking to you again.
However, it may also teach the customer that if they wait long enough, the salesperson will eventually lower the price.
𝟯) 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱
Instead of going back to the customer with a discount, try going back with something that provides value.
For example:
• Additional information that can help with the decision
• A case study from a similar business
• A new option that better fits the customer’s requirements
The purpose of follow-up is not simply to get the customer to respond.
It is to find a way to move the deal forward.
So, when a customer goes quiet, don’t rush to offer a discount.
This approach will help you stay composed and close deals more effectively.
