I was (and still am) amazed by Buttercup trees.
There are few leaves on these trees so all you really see are brilliant yellow flowers on branches.

An incredible commitment-
I had to ask my guide for clarification on this a few times because it seemed so incredible to me. The mahout (elephant human companion) stays with his elephant for their entire life. They are like brothers and spend all their time together. The mahout in this case, follows his elephant through the reserve jungle area tending to his elephant. They never part.

I’m going to go out on a limb and call this figure Phra Sangkajai.
But it could be Budhai because he is bald. Either way, he’s jolly and happy and is carrying an empty cloth sack and is located at Wat Arun. I do know he can be referred to as the laughing Buddha.

I wasn’t going to bother visiting The Grand Palace in Bangkok but was so glad I did. It was one of the more decorated places I had visited and I saw the emerald Buddha (no photos allowed). Unfortunately, there were lots of tourists here (which I don’t love) and it was burning hot outside.

I stayed in Chinatown for a week and it is one of the most interesting places I have ever seen. Walking some of the streets, I noticed that to me, things seemed so random, but I’m guessing there is an order to things I don’t understand. There were so many people selling auto parts, cleaning auto parts, repairing auto parts. And really good, really cheap street food in between. I found every day, and every night was dynamic and changing. It was fascinating.

Thailand had me thinking a lot about the beauty in the randomness of life. I’m not sure if it was the mood I was in, but I I felt like half the scenes I saw were every day works of art. I took a lot of photos along this line.

I’m staying next to a monastery. I’ve learned a lot about Buddhism since arriving in Thailand. 🧡
