It all started when I stumbled upon an old Garrard record player one day at my parents’ house. My dad used it during his college days in the US, and carried it back to Thailand with him more than 50 years ago. Forgotten and tugged away in a dark corner on top of a bookshelf in his study room, the 60-year-old record player has been sitting idle for as long as anyone could remember. After learning about its life story, I decided to make this Garrard player come back to life. Friends helped introduce record player repair shops; and after countless trips and many months, my dad’s 60-year-old record player was restored! And so the journey began… I then set about to restore my dad’s Sansui amplifier and Isophon speakers, and my father-in-law’s Luxman amplifier, Infinity speakers, and Yamaha turntable—all of which would have been thrown out one day as unwanted wastes. Bringing these items back to life not only rekindled old memories, it also allows me to enjoy great music at a reasonable price. This little journey made me discover that
· music can be enjoyed with great sound quality at affordable prices
· unwanted items in someone’s home can be used and appreciated in another’s
· each one of us can make the world a better place in our own way and our own capacity
And that’s how Restory Music was born. Restory Music is a place for music lovers. We offer a vast selection of used CD’s, vinyls, and hifi components such as speakers, amplifiers, CD players, and turntables. And at Restory Music we believe that we, with our own hands, can make the world a better place by sharing our love to others.
· Charitable sourcing—a large portion of our collection was “purchased” from charity organizations, or from owners who traded in their collections in return for donations to charity
