One of the greatest lessons nature teaches us is that she provides everything we need.

Furoshiki is a Japanese tradition of wrapping gifts in cloth. It is eco-conscious (doesn’t require any paper or tape that will be immediately tossed) and is so much more beautiful than wrapping paper. Plus, the recipient gets two gifts in one!

You can use a silk scarf (thrift stores are a great place to find these) or linen tea towel - or you can just use a piece of fabric you like. A sprig of greenery tucked inside is also lovely. Will you try it this holiday season?

The days are getting colder and rainier but I’m not ready to give it up just yet. Swimming has become my self care ritual, my meditation. You would think these two were the two Scorpios in the house (when it’s really me and Mayo) the way they passionately stand their ground when there is a disagreement. But then there are moments like these (and there are many of them) when their emotions align completely and it is so very beautiful to watch.

The boys have so many questions about the places we go and the things we see, and we try our best to answer their questions thoughtfully. If we don’t know the answer (which happens a lot!), we make a note to look it up later in the week and make a little lesson out of it. This way, we all learn together about something that is relevant and interesting to us at this exact moment in time. 📷
