Traditionally, the woman's name goes first on a wedding invitation because her parents historically hosted and paid for the wedding. In old etiquette, the people paying for the party got their family name or child listed first as a sign of respect. It was also seen as the final time the bride would use her birth name first before taking her spouse's last name. Older Western etiquette often placed a lady's name first in social settings (like "ladies first"). The final decision is up to the couple but posting as many customers say that they were not aware whose name goes first.
