The Horticultural Society of Trinidad & Tobago was originally formed as 'The Horticultural Club of Trinidad & Tobago' on 23rd April 1914. To open the membership to all interested persons, the twin-island republic, the Caribbean and beyond, the name was changed by consensus at an extraordinary general meeting on 19th June 1969. The main activities of the Society are the organization of and participation in Flower Shows; Flower Arranging competitions, visits to gardens and other places of horticultural interest, and lectures on all phases of horticulture.
