And just like that… another Back-to-School season has come to an end. 💜📚

At A. H. Chan & Son July and August have always meant one thing, “Book Season.”

For weeks, our days were filled with school lists, textbooks, uniforms, stationery, packed aisles, phone calls, WhatsApp messages and that familiar last-minute rush as September drew closer.

It was busy, exhausting at times, and there were more than a few moments when we wondered how we were going to get through it all. But somehow, as we always do, we did.

To our hardworking and dedicated staff, thank you. Your patience, teamwork, long hours and commitment made all the difference, and we are truly grateful for every extra effort.

To our customers, thank you for choosing Chans again this year. Whether you have been shopping with us for generations or this was your first Back-to-School season with us, we truly appreciate your support and trust.

For us, “Book Season” has never just been about selling books and school supplies. It is about seeing familiar families return year after year, and even seeing those who once came into Chans as schoolchildren now returning with children of their own.

After more than 80 years in Rio Claro, that still means something very special to us.

We’ve officially made it to the final weekend before school reopens… which means the last-minute rush is now in full swing. 😅

If you still need books, stationery, uniforms, bags or a few final school items, now is definitely the time to come in. We’ll admit, some of us are quietly wondering why everyone waited until the very end…
but we’re here, we’re ready, and we’ll be happy to help you get sorted.

🕗 Today, Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
🌞 Tomorrow, Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

Yes, we’re opening Sunday too, because apparently this weekend belongs entirely to Back-to-School. 😂

Come in, get those final items checked off the list, and let’s all make it through the weekend together. 💜

Good morning from A. H. Chan & Son ☀️

Yesterday wasn’t just busy, it was the kind of day that should have come with its own warning label!
The internet abandoned us in our hour of need, customers ready to pay by card kept arriving, and then the government vouchers were released… Suddenly, it felt like the whole of Rio Claro arrived at once! 😅 At one point, we weren’t sure whether we were running a store or starring in a disaster comedy!

But against all odds, we survived to tell the tale! All staff members are accounted for, the internet has made its return, and card transactions are officially back in action!

We’ve recovered emotionally… well, most of us have but we’re all ready to welcome you today… hopefully with a lot fewer surprises! 💜
