This is a very durable nut milk bag that is reusable and machine washable. The drawstring prevents pulp from escaping. It can handle high heat ( just don’t boil it ok?) and be used to strain just about anything from soups, sauces, green smoothies (if your blender doesn’t blend the liquid smoothly enough), dairy free milk (coconut, oat, almond etc), drain whey from curd in cheese and Greek yogurt.

Chai Inflammation Buster

2 cups kale (4-5 large leaves)
1 inch ginger
1/2 inch turmeric
1/2cup pineapple
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp chia seeds
1-1 1/2 cups water

I wrote this recipe originally to provide support for clients wanting to reduce their dependence on pain meds for period pain. However, it’s also perfect for gut healing and chronic inflammatory conditions. An excellent cocktail of anti inflammatory ingredients with a few extra benefits like smooth muscle relaxation and circulation boosters. A high mineral content promotes healing and supports your gut biome.

Even the “safest” pain meds will negatively affect the balance of good bacteria in your gut, especially if you depend on them month after month and year after year. Gut bacteria have both direct and indirect roles to play in female hormone production. An imbalance of female hormones begins to impact period duration, flow, frequency. It both feeds and is fed by weight gain and blood sugar fluctuations.

Did you know that taking practical mental health measures are a part of the therapeutic journey towards gut health? Poor gut health has been strongly linked to unexplained bouts (no identifiable triggers) of anxiety and depression. These mood changes and difficulty dealing with stressful situations worsen the physical flares of Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Disease. Trying to use dairy-free milk for your coffee but really miss the rich creamy look and mouth feel of cows milk?

I’ve tried them all and I’m loving this! 🤩🤩🤩 Use 2-3tsp of raw sunflower seeds. A possible alternative if you suffer from nut allergies. Sun seeds contain a healthy boost of fatty acids that lower cholesterol. They work hand in hand with minerals such a selenium, magnesium and zinc to boost circulation (great tip for diabetics) and fight inflammation. Bear in mind however that caffeine-containing drinks like tea and coffee can reduce the absorption of key nutrients. So try to work them into your diet in other areas. Use up to 1/4 cup of seeds and not every day. This helps you avoid becoming allergic and applies to all nuts and seeds in your diet. See why variety is sooo important?
They add a lovely, toasty flavor and you can even get some froth on top! 🥰 Put them in a high speed blender with your hot/cold coffee/matcha at max speed for 30 seconds.

4-5 leaves kale
1 inch ginger
1/2 cup fruit
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
1 tbsp matcha powder
1/4c coconut milk
1 1/2c water

*SMOOTHIE TIP - Never exceed 1/2 cup of fruit. When clients do initial consultations it is usually discovered that this is the most common mistake being made. If it’s very ripe or naturally sweet like banana, papaya, mango etc, don’t add sugar/honey. Stevia is acceptable.

Easy Peasy Oven Roasted Chicken Dinner

A total meal that requires very little prep as long as your chicken is seasoned ahead of time. It looks impressive and tastes amazing. Chuck it in the oven and go about the million things you need to get done. Totally gluten free and gut-nourishing.
*This can also be done in a Dutch oven or any deep oven proof dish if you don’t have a hotel pan like this.
