Instruments of appointment were presented to the newly installed Board of Queen’s Hall by Mr. Martel Waldron, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts. The presentation of the instruments took place at an official ceremony held on June 4th, 2024 in commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of the opening of Queen’s Hall.

The new Queen’s Hall Board has been appointed for a period of three (3) years from 2024 – 2027 in keeping with the Queen’s Hall Act, Chapter 40:50 (2) which states, “The Board shall be appointed by the Minister and shall consist of nine (9) members among whom shall be representatives of music, dance and drama.”

Dr. Helmer Hilwig was reappointed as Chairman of the Board, while Ms. Candice Hicks will serve as Deputy Chairman. The other appointed members are Ms. Charlene Griffith, Mr. Victor N. Prescod, Ms. Karla C. Gonzales, Mr. John Thomas, Ms. Lissa-Anne Edwards, Ms. Michele Isaac-Constantine and Ms. Sunita Lemet.

The new Queen’s Hall Board – among other duties – is responsible for establishment of policy direction and providing strategic directives for the Executive team led by the General Manager
