Freedom. Resilience. A voice that refuses to be silenced. 🇹🇹✨

As Trinidad & Tobago marks its 64th year of Independence, we celebrate the strength, courage and determination woven into the nation’s story.

Today, we’re sharing a powerful excerpt from Dancing Through the Rain: A Collection of Motivational Poems by Charlene Andrews. It serves as a reminder that the spirit of freedom lives on through the words we write, the stories we tell and the voices we preserve.

📚 Celebrate Caribbean voices. Discover Charlene Andrews’ poetry and explore more books by Caribbean authors at Books by LR.

🌍✨ Honoured to Serve. Proud to Support Young Commonwealth Voices.✨🌍

Our Founder, Latoyaa Roberts is deeply grateful to the Commonwealth Society for the opportunity to serve as a volunteer judge for another year at the Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition 2026.

This year marked a powerful evolution, as the programme transitioned from the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competitionto the Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition, embracing a broader, more inclusive celebration of storytelling across the Commonwealth. With the introduction of five regional winners, the competition now shines an even brighter light on diverse voices from every corner of our global community.

📚 Print or eBook - which one works best for Caribbean readers?

For Caribbean authors and publishers, choosing a format for publishing isn’t just about preference. It’s about reach, cost, accessibility and finding your readers all around the world. 🌎

Print gives Caribbean books a physical presence. eBooks can take those same stories across borders almost instantly. 📖

🤔 So… do we really have to choose?

Our latest blog explores the pros, cons and possibilities of print vs. eBooks for Caribbean publishers and why a hybrid approach might be the way forward.
