Stepping into the ✨ National Concert Hall ✨ is not only a milestone for a musician, but also a pivotal moment for the Muro Box-N40 programmable music box.

Taiwanese composer, Chun-Yen Chang, alongside “Mysterium Musicum”, braved the fusion of technology and classical art, weaving the physical notes of the N40 into a modern orchestral piece.

Why did Mr. Chang specifically choose the "Sublime" version of the music box? He shared:
"During the performance, the N40 Sublime played a critical role in creating 'material reverb.' Its precise, repetitive, and metallically weighted timbre perfectly filled the void between human voices and technological coldness. As the acoustic density on stage shifted dramatically, the plucking of the music box's comb felt like an echo of history vibrating through the air. This is a true 'modern instrument' capable of taking the international stage and interpreting deep emotions."

🎁 Phil selected 21 songs for customizing the music box to express his gratitude for his wife’s unwavering support over the past 20 years.

He said,
"These two decades have been filled with challenges. My wife once faced a life-threatening health crisis, and I endured the heartbreaking loss of my loved one."

There were countless days washed in tears—but in those darkest times, the most precious moments were simply sitting beside my wife, listening to the songs they both loved.

To turn those invisible emotions into something tangible, I embarked on a year-long “Dream Project.”

During my collaboration with the Muro Box arranger Ms. Liu Hung-Yin, I was deeply impressed by her dedication and precision.

I hold high standards for music, and Ms. Liu always captured the exact feeling I envisioned.
Each classic melody carries its soul in those subtle, defining phrases—she patiently listened, revised, and refined until the programmable music box reached its full expressive potential.
Among the 21 melodies, three songs mark milestones in my life:

Departure (Kiki’s Delivery Service) — Symbolizing the courage and hope of welcoming their two children, the beginning of their family story.

Go the Distance (Disney’s Hercules) — His anthem during his wife’s illness and life’s lowest point, reminding him to keep going no matter how hard it gets.

I Just Can’t Stop Loving You (Michael Jackson) — A calm yet heartfelt confession after the storm, echoing the eternal resonance of true love.

💖 To accompany his mother undergoing cancer chemotherapy, Siegfried from Belgium hopes to bring her comfort by playing her favorite old songs on a programmable music box.

He says:
“My mother is receiving cancer treatment. I cannot heal her. I cannot take her place in enduring the therapy. I cannot fight this battle for her. The only thing I can do is support her and help her recall the joyful moments of her life. At that moment, I remembered the slogan of Muro Box: ‘All memories, inside one music box…’

Every misplaced note, every failed MIDI conversion, every discouraging night staring at digital scores suddenly became part of something greater than my personal creative ambition. And then, just as the legend says, the Fairy Queen “Hung-Yin” appeared—she did exactly what I had hoped for. She took my hand, walked with me through this hostile soundscape, answered my endless questions, and solved seemingly impossible note arrangements.

This is the story of a devoted son who chose early retirement to accompany his mother through the final journey of home-based palliative care.
Mr. Weng shared:

“Whenever I recall walking with my mother through the last stage of her life, the deepest feeling in my heart is not heaviness or sorrow, but profound gratitude.”

❤️ To preserve this “bond filled with warmth” forever, he chose a music box as the vessel of memory.

On its front nameplate, he engraved the ten-year journey of caring for his mother, along with an image that touched his heart:

“A small Japanese white-eye bird waiting to be fed in its nest.”

At that moment, the thought that came to him was — “Ten years of wholehearted love and care.”

🎶 The programmable music box brings warm melodies into a nursing home in Netherlands, lighting up the faces of the elderly with smiles. 💖

For the first time, Muro Box was brought by a customer to the nursing home De Fabriek in Maasbree.

Joeri shared:
“I chose to perform at the nursing home because this month marks one year since my mother passed away here. She lived here for nearly four years, and during that time, the caregivers gave more than just professional service—they offered care, respect, and love.”

In the lounge, residents gathered to listen. When the Muro Box-N40 played Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals – Aquarium, Charpentier’s Te Deum, Scott Joplin’s Original Rags, Handel’s works, and several children’s songs, their eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy. This performance was not only about sharing music, but also about giving heartfelt gratitude.

💡 Joeri also shared the origin story of Muro Box:

The founding couple began their music box dream in Austria, when they bought a small music box that could only repeat a fragment of Mozart’s Serenade. Years later, while cleaning their warehouse, they found that same limited music box again. Inspired by its restrictions, they decided to embark on an adventure to create Muro Box—a programmable music box capable of playing diverse and rich music.

The residents were fascinated and eager to learn more about this innovation.
