Since our third year, exhibitions have become our way forward. We rarely collect antiques in large numbers now — only quiet encounters with a few pieces, some already claimed, some kept close to us.
This is why we felt such joy upon learning of this exhibition. To see antique tools, objects, and everyday vessels from different eras in person is a chance to slow down again — something no screen can replace. I found myself quietly excited, returning to the careful act of gathering what I truly love.
Mr. Honda’s selection carries a rare and intuitive eye, offering a moment to see antiques differently.
This 浮世 exhibition is a collaboration with Japanese antique dealer Mr. Honda. 浮世 in Toyama, Japan, designed by us, opened last year. Run by the 浦野couple, the space brings together food, objects, and time — Mr. 浦野 Taiwanese and Japanese dishes paired with antique tableware.
To have this meeting take place inside 目栮 150-year-old house feels like a gentle crossing of eras.
The Urano couple will be at Mokuren on Jan 27-30.
You’re warmly invited to visit, linger, and share a love for antiques.
