Our three little dioscorea elephantipes that’s sowed from seed are still growing strong. We started them in a very shallow tray and switched over to clear pots afterwards for the root to grow better. Two of them are growing bigger caudex and are trying to push themselves above the soil already!! Very excited for the day when we can finally have it revealed!!!⠀

Another Adenia glauca we received recently still acclimated to the new environment. ⠀
⠀
Adenia glauca is an arid plant, native to southern Africa, Madagascar, and the Arabian Peninsula. In its native environment it grows in rocky terrain as a tall, deciduous, woody climber. It's bulbous caudex stores water during periods of abundant rainfall, making this a very drought tolerant species. In its indigenous environment it can grow up to three meters tall, while plants cultivated indoors typically reach up to two feet in height. While a pleasure to look at handle this plant with care. Adenia glauca contains a poisonous sap that is highly irritating if it is ingested or comes in contact with skin.⠀

Philodendron gloriosum belongs to the Araceae family and is a terrestrial plant. It is within the Philodendron genus and is a crawling Philodendron with heartleaf shaped green velvety foliage and pale to striking white veins. ⠀

The plant is native to Colombia and other tropical parts of the world. Apart from Colombia, it is found in Mexico, Central America as well as Peru, Ecuador, the western parts of Brazil and Venezuela.⠀

2 types of Philodendrons purchased by our lovely client .
The silver sword is named thanks to its blue-tinged leaves and arrow/ sword-resembling leaf shape, the Philodendron Hastatum will make a unique and wonderful addition to your home collection. Best-grown in medium light, though lower light levels are acceptable, the plant is also often referred to as the Silver Sword Philodendron.

Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil' is a wild and bold cultivar of the classic Heartleaf Philodendron. Its variegated leaves look almost painted, with strokes of yellow and lime green across the deep green foliage. As if that weren't tropical enough, the stems have pinkish orange hue. Tolerant of a wide range of light conditions, this plant is a prolific grower, producing long cascading vines that can easily reach the floor. Like its cousin, the standard green Heartleaf Philodendron, Philodendron 'Brasil' is extremely easy to grow - no green thumb required.

Phyllanthus mirabilis is endemic to Thailand. It is the only Phyllanthus to be caudiciform. The leaves fold together at night. In habitat this plant grows in rich peat and gets a lot of water in the rain-season. At night the leaves fold together in pairs like butterfly wings. It will keep its leaves during the winter, but loose them in spring during dormancy period, leaving a thick showy caudex. Re-leafs around June. It is a nice bonsai plant that requires minimum care and tolerates wide range of conditions. You can grow it in full sun, or in a shade garden. It doesn't mind minimal watering, but will grow faster with daily watering.⠀
If planted in the ground, the trunk can grow up to 2-3 ft in diameter, and reach a high of 20-25 ft.⠀
⠀⠀
We received this about three weeks ago, and it only began sprouting last week! 1/3 of the caudex was planted in well draining soil, with a lot of pumice to allow airflow. We water it once a week and spray the soil in between. ⠀
The leaf are in burgundy color and they fold together at night showing the back... really do look like butterfly wings!⠀

🦑 K R A K E N 🦑
——————————————Exposed the little caudex on our Medusa’s head - Euphorbia flanaganii is a dwarf succulent plant with a swollen underground stem. Cylindric branches grow, flat on the ground, spreading horizontally, up to 400 mm in diameter. Leaves are very small, up to 10 mm long and 1 mm broad, with a linear to acute shape.
